Baby Framed Art

One of my dear friends is expecting a grand-baby very soon.  She’s requested a framed piece for baby’s name… with a hula girl!  I’ve been throwing this idea around & procrastinating for at least a month!  But baby will soon be here!

So yesterday I started playing around with the idea, trying to make it for boy or girl.  Here’s what I came up with:

I just love it & hope she does, too!!  You may be asking, “Where’s the hula girl?”  I know!  I’ve made a special one for her that she’ll have to put in the center square along with baby’s name.  I could have made a hula skirt for the mermaid!  Just thought of that!

Here’s a few closeup’s:

Definitely a Hawaii Baby Theme here!

If you’d like to make one, I’ll be offering a class soon!

Twin Bears Baby Card for SSINK

I received this adorable baby card in the mail from my Secret Sister (SACS2017) and wanted to CASE it!!  Unfortunately, I can’t tell you who made this cute card, because I haven’t figured out who she is yet!!  Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is featuring Baby Cards.  Have you ever needed a card for a set of twins?  They’d love receiving this Twin Bear Card!

Here’s mine:

I can’t figure out how my Secret Sister made the little carts in her card!!  Anyone know?  I used Lots of Labels Framelits Dies, and the little bears fit nicely inside.  The bears are retiring!!  So sad!  Order them HERE before they’re gone!  And you’ll want the Bear Hugs Framelits, too!  Order them HERE!  They’re on SALE, by the way.

Another contest… first person to tell me what set the arrows come from (the ones on the cart) gets this card in the mail!  Woohoo!

Time to check out what the rest of the SSINK Design Team has made for Baby Cards!

SSINKIC #43 for Easter

The March Card Challenge for the SSINK Team had me reaching for the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies.  And I needed a bunny!  Found an adorable one in a baby set called Made With Love!

Isn’t he sweet?!!  And I’m loving that glimmer paper!!  You can get it FREE by spending $50 during Sale-A-Bration, which ends March 31st.

The Designer Series Paper I used is Succulent Garden DSP.  Gorgeous colors!

Be sure & check out what the other Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team Members have done with this cute sketch!

Sale-A-Bration Favorite!

There are so many great Sale-A-Bration Items, it was hard to choose a favorite!  I love the Delicate Details and Avant Garden, but my current favorite is Tasty Trucks!  Totally cute and fun to play around with!!

Stampin’ Up! has so many items that coordinate!  This cute Designer Series Paper is called Tasty Treats and the sentiment on the bottom is from Sprinkles of Life.

Here I made a similar card, but changed it into a Baby Card!

Isn’t that fun?!!  It started with a mistake where I smeared the ice cream cones & then had to cover them up with something…a kitty!  Mistakes often end up with cuter cards, don’t you think?!

The bad news is…you can’t buy this stamp set!

The good news is…you can get it for FREE!!

Just place any $50 order during Sale-A-Bration (now through March 31st) and you get to select an item from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog!

The Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is featuring their Favorite Sale-A-Bration Items today!!  Don’t miss it!  CLICK HERE to see more beautiful ideas for Sale-A-Bration!

Barnyard Babies!

One of our Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team gals, Tobe Buffenbarger, just had a baby!!  Quentin is his name & he’s adorable!!

I love giving books for baby gifts, so Quentin’s getting one that was a favorite of my girls, Moo, Baa, La La La! by Sandra Boynton.  This book was my inspiration for this card:

I knew I needed this set, living in Upcountry Maui.  Most of you think of Maui as beautiful beaches.  There is that!  But when I take a walk in the morning I’m greeted by lots of chickens, cows, sheep, goats, and even an occasional pig that’s loose!  I love living up here because it’s a lot cooler at this elevation and we have a beautiful view of Haleakala Crater.

Hope you enjoyed my card today!  And Quentin, I hope you love your new book!  Be sure & check out the SSINK Team’s other baby cards for Quentin!

Quick & Easy Card for SSINK Design Team

It’s actually difficult to come up with a simple card!  I tend to keep adding embellishments & layers.  But today the Stylin’ Stampin’ Gals are posting “Simple Cards”.

This type of card is really simple but the effect is so nice!  I call it a Negative Image Card.
