I LOVE making cards! Everyone who knows me knows me knows that my favorite place is my craft room (AKA: Creation Station). I usually make cards, and when I’m done coming up with something new, there tends to be an explosion of paper, ribbon, & embellishments.
What I enjoy making even more is something 3-D! Boxes & bags are so much fun to make & to give away! So, this year in place of my monthly card classes, I’ll offer Cards, Etc. Classes! Starting this weekend! We’ll be making 3 cards with matching envelopes, plus a 3-D item!
Here’s my 3-D for January:
I’m hoping everyone will love making these! Simple to make! Fun to give!
January Cards, Etc. Classes will be Saturday, Jan. 28 at 2pm or Monday, Jan 30 at 10am. Cost is $10 or FREE with your $20 order placed that day.
Thanksgiving is coming up soon! One of my favorite holidays!! My girls will be far away…but Pat & Mom are here and I’ll have a new kitchen! Yea! I’ve been doing dishes in the bathtub for over a month & eating take-out, so I’m ready to cook an amazing meal for Thanksgiving!
Here’s today’s challenge photo for Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration:
I work for a podiatrist and he asked me to make bags for the doctors & nurses that refer to him. Such a great idea, I think! It’s special to commemorate Thanksgiving and “Being Thankful” for our blessings.
Here’s one of the bags (they’re all a bit different!)
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure & take a look at what the other Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team has done for this challenge. Maybe you’ll get some ideas for Thanksgiving decorating!
Paper: Pumpkin Pie Base (5 1/2 X 11, score at 4 1/4), Halloween Night Specialty DSP (5 1/2 X 4, then make a cut at 2 3/4″ that’s 1 1/2″ long- I just use my cutter & place the paper at the 2 3/4″ mark & move the blade down to 1 1/2″ then cut up from there), Smokey Slate, Basic Black, Whisper White scraps
Here’s a Halloween version of the Collar Fold Card:
Isn’t he a cutie?!!
We also decorated Petite Cafe Gift Bag. These bags are very good quality & food safe.
Can you guess what I used to punch out the flower? The balloon punch! And I have to say I LOVE those gold binder clips!! Very sturdy & shiny & cute!!
Hope you enjoyed my projects today! Let me know if you’re interested in trying out CLUB! We meet once a month & you can come on either Saturday or Sunday. I’m also thinking about starting a Monday Club if I get enough interest…
Basically, CLUB is FREE. You just commit to placing a $25 order each month, and when it’s your turn, you get to be the hostess & get extra products that month!
Last weekend my downline, the Maui Big Shots!, put on their first ever BIG EVENT… #imbringingbirthdaysback. They worked so hard & spent many hours planning, prepping, & decorating and the day was a huge success!! I need to send out a lot of Thank You’s and here’s one I came up with for today’s SSINK Challenge:
I had a little paper left over from the bags we made (shown off here…)
This beautiful paper is Floral Boutique DSP.
Stamps: Jar of Love
Inks: Night of Navy, Cucumber Crush, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Night of Navy (4 1/4 X 11 card base, scored at 2 3/4 & 8 1/4), Flirty Flamingo (2 1/2 X 4…cut 2), Floral Boutique DSP (3 3/4 X 2 1/4…cut 2), Whisper White for inside (5 1/4 X 4)
I’m excited to tell you that I’ve been selected to be a part of the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation team!! They are a group of very creative & talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that keep busy with fun ideas & challenges. Be sure & click on the link HERE to see some of their ideas!
Today is my first official day as a team member & the theme today is Fourth of July (or red/white/blue). I’m hosting a block party this weekend, so I came up with this little treat to give out.
The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits were the perfect size for my Red Vines. Yum! I remember eating these at the movies when I was a kid.
Wish you could see the sparkle on the little swirls where I’ve swiped it with Wink of Stella!
This bag, especially with the doily, makes me think of the banners on Makawao Avenue here on Maui. Most people probably don’t realize this, but we have lots of cowboys (Paniolos) in Hawaii and a big rodeo is held each year on July 4th on my island of Maui.
Being a part of this team is a big challenge for me, and it’s sure to keep me stampin’! My favorite thing to do!! I’d appreciate comments any time! Please subscribe to my blog via email (on the right bar of this page) so that you don’t miss anything!
I’m fortunate to have some very creative, fun people on my team! We meet every 2 months to swap, eat, share ideas & support each other, and mainly to stamp!
Here I’ll share some of the things we shared in the meeting:
We swapped and also had a tic-tac-toe challenge! Basically you had to choose 3 things in a row to have on your project (example: embossing, blue, bling).
Everyone who participated in the challenge got a prize!
We all loved Louella’s basket & she swore it was “so simple”! She was right!!
Directions for Louella’s Simple Basket:
Start with 6 X 6 piece of DSP
Score at 2″ on all 4 sides
Cut both score lines on each side in towards middle
Cut 1 X 8 1/2″ piece for handle
Fold up corners & secure with brad
We pulled out some paper & made some of our own. Love them!
You, too, can be a Maui Big Shot! Some of my demonstrators are “hobby demos” & just want the 20 – 25% discount. Others want to have classes of their own. Whatever your reason, now is the perfect time! Join for just $99 and get $155 of products (that’s $30 more than usual, because it’s Sale-a-bration). This deal ends March 31, 2016. We’d love to have you join our group!
Ever wonder what to do with leftover Designer Series Paper? This month at club we’ll be making pretty gift bags using Wildflower Fields DSP that you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration! It coordinates beautifully with Flowering Fields Stamp Set.
You’ll get directions to make 3 sizes of bags. Here’s a small one:
Same paper & coordinating stamp set.
If you would like to join us at Club this month, you have 2 dates to choose from:
Saturday, February 13 at 2pm in Haiku or
Sunday, February 14 at 1pm in Pukalani
Club is FREE with your $25 order placed that day. If you join our club, we rotate host benefits, which means sometimes you get to be the hostess & get to choose FREE products that month, depending on the amount of the sales. Plus you get to make friends with some very fun people! And did I mention the food?…
Here’s the recipe I promised you from yesterday’s post:
Chocolate Espresso Chew
*from the kitchen of my WW leader, Nneaay, AtasciMay! Names have been changed to protect the guilty…)
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
3 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
4 eggs, room temp
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp finely ground dark coffee
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup walnuts, toasted, then chopped
Combine flour, baking soda & salt. Set aside.
Melt 2 cups of the chocolate chips, unsweetened chocolate & butter in microwave using 50% power.
Beat eggs, sugar, coffee & vanilla on high speed in electric mixer until thick ribbons form & mixture has doubled in volume. By hand, stir in melted chocolate mixture until thoroughly combined, then add dry ingredients, chopped walnuts & remaining chocolate chips. Cover & refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake on parchment paper lined baking sheets for 12-13 minutes; tops will crack but cookies should be gooey inside. Don’t overcook!
I changed this one up a bit to use at my Thanksgiving table! Found the idea on Glenda Calkin’s blog. Then I added a button closure so that all the goodies won’t fall out!
I also made a few cards with the kit. Found this idea on Katy McGloin’s blog. Only thing I changed was to use my new Note Tag Punch.
I loved this card by Michelle Quinno, but didn’t have the Dots & Stripes Mask. So, guess where my polka dots came from?! There’s this leftover circle in the Chalk Talk Stamp Set! I knew I’d find a use for it!
