This Card-in-a-Box might be my favorite so far!
The Birthday Basics DSP is perfect for this! So bright & happy! There are so many images to choose from. Balloons, candles, numbers, party hats…
I decided to make my cake from scratch! Here’s the recipe: Bottom layer 1 3/4 X 1; middle 1 1/4 X 1; top 7/8 X 1. Used my corner rounder for the tops & scallop trim border punch for the frosting on the bottom layer. I just glued them on a 1/2 X 2 1/4 scrap paper. The candles? From the Cupcake Punch!! Caution: Use as little glue as possible to avoid sticky fingers!
If you can guess the punches I used to make the balloon & post the comment on my blog, I’ll send you a card! Hint: I used 2 punches.
This punch comes from Label Love and coordinates with the Artisan Label Punch. To make the contrast in the back, I just punched one in Summer Starfruit, cut it down the middle, & stuck it on.
The banners & party hats are from Sketched Birthday. Actually, I’m planning to make another Birthday Card-in-a-Box using more from that set!

My daughters and I have many fond memories of having tea together.
Here’s my daughter, Jenny, at tea when we were visiting York.
And here’s Malia, adding a little tea to her cup of milk & honey.
My friend, Julie, wanted me to make a Card-in-a-Box with a “Tea” theme. Here’s what I came up with:
I tend to load up these boxes with as many images as I can. See the doily behind the big tea cup?
These stamp sets are retired (Tea Shoppe & Morning Cup), but I couldn’t resist using them!
l’ll be having a Card-in-a-Box GIVE AWAY in the next day or so! Stay tuned for details!
If you’d like to learn how to make a Card-in-a-Box, there’s still space left in our

Another card in a box to share with you today! I decided to take my card from yesterday a step further…
It started with that big sun you see in the back and “You make me happy…”.
Added a few birds, clouds, some bread & jam…
And I used a new stamp set, Starburst Sayings, and the framelits for the little spirals!
Stamps: See Ya Later, Spread the Joy, Starburst Sayings, Yippee Skippee
Colors: Calypso Coral, Gumball Green, Pool Party, Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: This and That Epic Day DSP, Bird Punch, Banner Blast Punch, Starburst Framelits, Word Bubbles Framelits, Window Frames Framelits

Yesterday was Anne’s birthday, and I knew what I had to make for her!
Anne really enjoys a good cup of coffee (or two!). We’ve both been busy seeing what we could make with the Card in a Box, and the possibilities are endless!!
Click here to see what Anne made for a little boy’s birthday card!
I saw the idea for the two cups on
Brian King’s blog!
Love this stamp set, called Perfect Blend! Not to mention, that beautiful paper, Venetian Romance DSP. I also dragged out a couple of retired stamp sets. If you’d like to make a Card in a Box, Anne & I are having a class on Sunday, March 30 from 1pm – 4:30pm at The Maui Lodge (190 W. Kam Ave., Kahului). You’ll have your choice of a floral Easter box or a whimsical Easter bunny box.

Added my card (freestyle layering) to this great coffee challenge!
