ICS Blog Hop – Join The Fold Beautiful You

Welcome to a special Inspire, Create, and Share blog hop! We recently attended On Stage in Salt Lake City with 2,700 demonstrators to see new products, hear training, and connect with friends. Our team met for dinner and to swap cards designed with fancy folds. Meeting together is the best and of course we want to share the fancy fold card designs with you!

The front of my card starts with this Beautiful You girl.  Beautiful You combined with Eastern Elegance.  Wait till you see when you open it up!!

Isn’t that cool?!!  I’m calling it a Pop Up Book Card.  I found a similar one on Pinterest, but had to convert it to fit into a standard sized envelope.

I’m not sure how to explain the fold, but here’s a diagram that I’ll be using when I make it again.

Does that help at all?  With some encouragement, I might try to make a video (my first!)  of this fun fold!  That’s something I want to challenge myself to do. But I am a bit technically challenged, as you may have noticed!  I had to laugh when I returned from On Stage & looked at my blog posts that I’d made on my IPad.  The pictures are sideways & upside down!!  Oh, brother!

Being a demonstrator means you meet people from all over the world, get to travel for events, we get the first peek at new products. Only demonstrators get the opportunity to attend Stampin’ Up! events to see the new catalog in hand, use the products, and the perk of bringing home new stamp sets, projects, and sometimes more! You can join one of our teams and receive all of these demonstrator perks. You select your starter kit, it is $125 in product but you only pay $99 and includes free shipping. Just ask your demonstrator where to get started to sign up OR if that is me CLICK HERE!

Be sure and continue on this blog hop!  Next up is Audra Monk, who I met at Salt Lake!  She’s so sweet and has a wonderful blog!  You won’t want to miss any of these very creative folds!  And please leave us a few comments!!

#ICS Blog Hop Colors of Courage

I think all of us have had friends of family with cancer.  Such a tough thing to go through.  There’s no right or wrong way to navigate through that, but one thing I’ve seen over & over is COURAGE.  Courage and faith.

As I write this post, my dear friend, Chari, is going through her first chemotherapy for breast cancer.  I can’t be with her, but we keep messaging back & forth, and that helps a lot.  When I first moved to Maui, I didn’t know anyone & I attended a Christian Woman’s Club luncheon.  Chari sat next to me & I was so touched when she just came out & asked if we could be friends.  Sure!!  She & her husband were new to the island, also, and we all ended up spending lots of time together.  We all learned to windsurf, had babies, spend many years together on Maui until they moved to Washington.

Here’s a card for Chari:

Double Z Fun Fold Card

Measurements:

  • Card Base Wisteria Wonder – 4 1/4″ X 11″, scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
  • Delightful Daisy DSP – two pieces at 2 1/2″ X 4″, one at 4″ X 5 1/4″
  • White layer – 3 1/4″ X 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ & 6 3/8″

God bless you, Chari!  You’ll get through this.  There are so many people who love you & are praying for you!!

Next on the hop is Terri Takashige!  You won’t want to miss her creative ideas!!

ICS Blog Hop Count My Blessings

I really love Thanksgiving!  Yes, there’s the food.  My husband grills the turkey on the Weber every year & it has a slightly smokey flavor & it’s moist, & the best turkey ever!!

Here’s Anne Matasci & me ready for some turkey!

But there’s just something wonderful about pausing to reflect on your blessings for one whole day!  We had a tradition when the girls still lived at home where we had a Thankful Turkey that sat out for a couple of weeks.  You were supposed to fill it with little notes about things you were thankful for & then we’d read them aloud after dinner.  I’ve kept them all over the years & they’re really fun to read!!

One of my fun family memories is when we made Pat get involved with making a new Thankful Turkey.  He’s not really into crafting, but when he does it he doesn’t hold back!  He must have used 10 glue sticks gluing on those pompoms!  These pictures were taken over 10 years ago, by the way.

This is one turkey feather.

Today the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop is Introducing the Holiday Catalog!  I’ve chosen to focus on Thanksgiving!

Isn’t that the greatest sentiment?!!  And I just love the font!  The fall Designer Series Paper is called Painted Autumn & is full of fall colors, leaves, pumpkins, acorns, & pretty patterns.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure & keep hopping to get a chance to see more new ideas from the Holiday Catalog!  Your next stop is Nichole Loe & you’re in for a treat!  She always has great ideas!!

ICS Blog Hop: Knotty Ways

I’m excited about today’s Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop:  Knotty Ways!  We’ll be showcasing Stampin’ Up! Ribbon in a Christmas Theme!  I’ve used Foil Frenzy Paper which is shiny & gorgeous!  These are the first Christmas Cards I’ve made since last year… just love the holidays and all the special cards & gifts!

I used Christmas Pines stamp set which pairs with Pretty Pines Thinlits.  The leaves have such dimension!  The ribbon is 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon- Fresh Fig.  The accent pieces (Glitter Enamel Dots) add  just the right touch!

Here’s another one where you can see the shine in the Foil Frenzy paper.

Which card do you like best?  Leave a comment below & I’ll put your name in a drawing to win a set of GLITTER ENAMEL DOTS!  Glitter Enamel Dots

Don’t stop here!  Next on the ICS Blog Hop is Audra Monk, the Crafty Yogi.
