Here’s a fun Sketch Challenge from the SSINK Team! I love these challenges because they force me to come up with my own ideas. Give it a try!!
To make this card, I basically started with some stamp sets I’d been wanting to play with: Merry Patterns & Christmas Sweaters! The Merry Patterns Set can only be earned by placing a $300 order through the end of October!! Let me know if you have a big Wish List or would like to host a party! I chose the colors by looking at the Quilted Christmas 6 X 6 DSP. That’s a simple way to choose a color combo guaranteed to look great!
I don’t get a lot of use out of my sweaters here on Maui. But my daughter, Malia, is spending her first winter in Syracuse, NY, where I hear it gets mighty cold! She’s already made a request for sweater money.
Here’s a close up of that cute sweater…
Now head over to our SSINK Page to see what the other designers have done with this sketch! Give it a try!! We’d love to see what you come up with!
Fall Frenzy is today’s theme for the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation Team! I’m not feelin’ the “fall” here on Maui! It’s just plain hot!
I came up with my card idea by following a sketch from Fab Friday.
Here’s my card:
I reached for the old standby… Lovely As a Tree then added a nice sentiment from Paisleys & Posies. The leaf embossing in the background gives it just the right touch. I’ve used sponges to give some color to the trees & grass.
Here I used the Tree Rings background instead of textured leaves. Which card do you prefer? I’m trying to come up with ideas for the September Cards, Etc Class!
Thanks for stopping by today! I’d really love to hear your comments to help me choose which card to make for class!
We have a fun Technique Challenge for you today for the SSINK Team… Ink on Embossing Folders!
This is my first time trying out this technique & I just love it!! It’s simple & fast with great results! Here’s my card:
Just used my brayer to spread some ink on the Brick Wall Embossing Folder! I really like the way it turned out & can’t wait to ink up my other Embossing Folders!
Stamps: Spooky Cat
Inks: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Very Vanilla (4 1/4 X 11, score at 2 3/4 & 8 1/4) and inky embossed pieces (4 X 2 1/2- cut 2), Basic Black (2 5/8 X 4 1/8- cut 2), Spooky Night DSP
Accessories: Cat Punch, Black Rhinestone Jewels
Notes: The Spooky Night DSP has a page made to cut 3″ squares containing the tree with the moon behind it. I cut those squares 2 7/8 so that they’d fit onto the biggest scalloped square from Layering Squares Framelits.

I really love Thanksgiving! Yes, there’s the food. My husband grills the turkey on the Weber every year & it has a slightly smokey flavor & it’s moist, & the best turkey ever!!
Here’s Anne Matasci & me ready for some turkey!
But there’s just something wonderful about pausing to reflect on your blessings for one whole day! We had a tradition when the girls still lived at home where we had a Thankful Turkey that sat out for a couple of weeks. You were supposed to fill it with little notes about things you were thankful for & then we’d read them aloud after dinner. I’ve kept them all over the years & they’re really fun to read!!
One of my fun family memories is when we made Pat get involved with making a new Thankful Turkey. He’s not really into crafting, but when he does it he doesn’t hold back! He must have used 10 glue sticks gluing on those pompoms! These pictures were taken over 10 years ago, by the way.
This is one turkey feather.
Today the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop is Introducing the Holiday Catalog! I’ve chosen to focus on Thanksgiving!
Isn’t that the greatest sentiment?!! And I just love the font! The fall Designer Series Paper is called Painted Autumn & is full of fall colors, leaves, pumpkins, acorns, & pretty patterns.
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure & keep hopping to get a chance to see more new ideas from the Holiday Catalog! Your next stop is Nichole Loe & you’re in for a treat! She always has great ideas!!
Today’s color challenge… I wasn’t sure about the Very Vanilla, but it works really well with the other colors! I love a Black & White card!! I have to say, after coming up with this card, the biggest challenge I have is that Basic Black wants to get all over my fingers!! Like a magnet! Does anyone else have this issue?
Anyway, I finally came up with a nice clean card, & I LOVE IT! What do you think?
These images are from a Host Set called Background Bits. The 2 1/4″ Flirty Flamingo square is textured using Garden Trellis Embossing Folder.
Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration team will be casing our Design Team Member, Pamela Wu. Pamela has a “clean & simple” style that I love! She’s also become a very good friend of mine and has been so helpful & supportive of my business, even though we’ve never met!
Here’s the card I’ve CASEd from her:
I really like her layout and I just happen to have a brand new bundle to try out: Christmas Quilt.
Here’s my card:
What a fun bundle this is! The Framelits give you lots of options. See the “stitching” in the quilt?
Stamps: Christmas Quilt
Ink: Wisteria Wonder & Peekaboo Peach
Paper: Sahara Sand (4 1/4 X 11, scored at 5 1/2), Wisteria Wonder (3 X 4 1/4), Very Vanilla (2 3/4 X 4)
Congratulations! And thank you for everyone who makes comments on my blog!

Last week we had a fun meeting with the Maui Stampers Group. Anne Matasci, my upline, presented me with this pretty lei to congratulate me for earning the Alaska Trip! She’s been my cheerleader the whole time and I really appreciate her encouragement, tips, and friendship. Anne, you’re the best!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t pause to thank all of my customers for your support in helping me earn this fun trip!! Couldn’t have done it without you- that’s for sure!! Thank you so much! Most of you are as addicted to stamping as I am!! I really don’t have to sell anything- you guys are so easy! Ha! I’ve made life long friends through stamping!
Hope you’re all having a great weekend! I have my August Cards, Etc. Class today & Monday. If you’re unable to attend, but would like the set of cards, please send me a message this weekend!
