Sweet Cupcake for #SSINKIC35: INKspiration Challenge

I’ve been hearing about Sara Douglass’ frosting recipe that she presented at #OnStage2016!  At club this month, we made this cute card using Sara’s recipe.

Createwithcheryl Sweet Cupcake 2

I actually came up with this card idea by looking at the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration challenge picture shown here:

My card’s not a beach scene, but I did use blue & pink & made little sprinkles like the sand.

  • Stamps:  Sweet Cupcake & Endless Thanks
  • Inks:  Crumb Cake & Soft Suede for Cupcake Liner (I stamped off Crumb Cake for the #3 stamp that had the largest image), Frosting was Flirty Flamingo (stamped off #3 stamp with the largest image) and the recipe reinker I used was Calypso Coral.  I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds before it had time to dry.  Pool Party ink for “friend”.
  • Paper:  Crumb Cake base, Soft Sky (5 3/8 X 4 1/8), Pink Pirouette (5 1/8 X 3 7/8)
  • Accessories:  Cupcake Cutouts Framelits, Dimensionals under the cupcake

Hints:  Use the Precision Base Plate & Die Brush & the “Sweet” pops out with no trouble at all!

Spring Blog Hop!

I’m excited to participate in a blog hop today with the Borderline Buddies…this time from a border quite far away!  Maui!

borderling buddies

The theme is SPRING!  That gets me thinking flowers & butterflies, which I noticed all around me as I took my walk this morning.

I’m lucky to live on Maui, where flowers bloom year-round!

I made a card using a unique fold I’ve been wanting to try out:

Spring Blog Hop (2)

Isn’t this a fun fold?!  Found the directions on Linda Bauwin’s blog.  Check it out- she has some great videos!!  The stamp sets used are Flower Patch & Feel Goods and the DSP is Botanical Gardens DSP.  Colors are Pool Party & Hello Honey.

Had to make a little box to match my card:

Spring Blog Hop (3)

This is the Curvy Keepsake Box…my favorite little candy box!  Stamped it with some flowers from Flower Patch then cut out a flower with Floral Frames Framelits, made a slit in the flower & slid it over the handle.  Thought it needed something else, so I added a clothespin & stuck on a llittle butterfly.  Here’s a close up so you can see the pearls:

I’m also entering my projects in Stampin’ Royalty SR#324.Wear Our Badge

The theme is “Anything Goes!!”

Spring Blog Hop (4)

I love this project & I’m pretty sure my club members will love it too!  Club is this weekend- 2 dates to choose from:  Saturday, 2pm at my house in Haiku or Sunday, 1pm at Linda’s house in Makawao.  Guests always welcome!  You just need to make a $25 order, and the project is free.  Please RSVP.

Now hop on over to see what Leanna & Susan have come up with for “Spring”!  And thanks, again, for including me in your Borderline Buddies Blog Hop!

Best Thoughts for April

IMG_1113

I’ve done a little watercoloring for April, using the aquapainter.  It’s fun & simple and perfect with this image from the Host Set Best Thoughts!

Colors used are Watermelon Wonder & Mossy Meadow.  Look closely & you can see the little white dots made using the White Signo Pen.

IMG_1115

The special thing about the Host Sets is that you can only purchase them when you’re the Host at a Stampin’ Up! event.  That means either it’s your turn to host club, or you make a $150 order by yourself.  Let me know if you’re interested in either one…

Be sure & stop by Anne & Crystal’s blogs to see what they’ve come up with for April!

Class of 2015

Class of 2015 CardHere’s one of the cards we made at club this weekend.  A graduation card that holds money- exactly what they need most!

Createwithcheryl.me Class of 2015

Open it up and it looks like a file folder.  The Night of Navy is beautiful embossed in Silver.  I bought the Confetti Stars Border Punch especially for this card!  So glad I did!

Here are the details:

  • Paper:  Night of Navy -8 1/2 X 9 3/4- (save the extra piece to punch the confetti stars on) then score at 3 1/2 & 7 being careful to score along the shortest side, Brushed Silver (8 1/2 X 1 3/4)
  • Stamps:  Class of 2015, BYOP
  • Extras:  Silver Embossing Powder, Square Framelits (first I punched out #6 square, embossed it, then cut it again with #5 square to leave you some margin for being crooked), Confetti Stars Border Punch, Dimensionals to pop up the front sentiment, Envelope punch board:  punch the left inside corner then punch again at 3″.
  • Createwithcheryl.me Class of 2015
