Lions, Tigers & Bears, Oh My! Cards Featuring Pretty Kitty

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for February 2018. This month our theme is Lions, Tigers & Bears, Oh My! Cards Featuring Animals!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Cheryl Hamilton @ www.createwithcheryl.me or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Today’s blog hop is all about animals!  My Bella & Friends stamp set has gotten a lot of use, but I haven’t used Pretty Kitty until today.  Here I go…

Stamped the kitty on Shimmer Paper using Memento Ink and then colored it in using Stampin’ Markers.  I chose the colors based on this weeks challenge from Global Design Project #GDP125.

Don’t you just love that “amazing” cutout?!  You can get Celebrate You Thinlits FREE with any $100 order now until the end of March during Sale-a-Bration.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently, you are on my blog – Cheryl Hamilton @ Create With Cheryl, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next on the list.

Winter Blues with Petal Palette

Here’s a card that’s sure to cure your Winter Blues!

I just loved the way this turned out!  The paper is Petal Passion DSP that has been colored using my Stampin’ Blends.  There’s really no right or wrong way to use the Blends- just experiment!

This card is a Fun Fold called a Gate Card.  Very simple to make.  Give it a try!  For the card base, start with cardstock cut at 4 1/4 X 11 and score each end at 2 3/4″.  Then fold each side in towards the middle.

Take a look at the back of the paper after I colored it!  I almost like this as much as the front!!  What do you think?

Gave this card to my sweet husband for Valentine’s Day.  He’s been in the hospital in Arizona for 2 weeks- came back to Maui & had 1 nice day at home then had to go back to Maui Memorial ICU with more complications.  Hopefully he’ll be coming home today!

Thank you to everyone for your kindness and prayers during this difficult time.  My stampin’ friends are so wonderful- love you all!!  I’ve had people help prep my classes for me, mow my lawn, bring food, & loads of people praying & encouraging us.  We are truly blessed!

Don’t miss more Winter Blues Cards at the SSINK Design Team Page!

Sure Do Love You February

It might be cold & wet where you are, but February is actually a wonderful month!

Reasons to love February:

  • Valentine’s Day!  Love.
  • Super Bowl Sunday!
  • Whale season.  Maui, I know.  Come visit!
  • Sale-a-Bration!
  • Chocolates.  You just might get some.  You really should give some.
  • The start of Lent.  Strive to be better, more giving, less complaining.

Back to my calendar.  This pretty heart is from Sure Do Love You, in the Occasions Catalog, & it just happens to have a set of framelits that bundle with it!

See the way the sentiment is darker on the outside?  That’s called the “kissing technique”.  Very appropriate for February, don’t you think?!  It’s very simple to do.  Just stamp the image in Melon Mambo then roll the edge of the stamp in a darker color (I used Berry Burst).

Tell me what you LOVE about February!!  Come on!  I know you can find something…

Time to check out Crystal & Anne’s calendars for February.  Here’s a photo of the three of us, surrounding some special guests:

Cake Soiree Favorite Designer Series Paper for SSINK

I want to show you a card I made that really shows off my favorite Designer Series Paper, Sweet Soiree.  Just in time for the wedding of one of my former Girl Scouts!  You might see some evidence of a tea party we just had for her in the background.

That paper is so gorgeous, it doesn’t need much else!  This card is called a Double Gate Fold Card- a great way to show off DSP!

Here’s how it looks when you open it:

One thing I love is a good sentiment stamp.  This sweet saying is from Special Celebrations.  You can find all supplies with a link to my store at the bottom of my post.

The cake on the front is from Cake Soiree Bundle.  I embossed it in silver to go with this elegant card.

Shelli & Sterling Visit Maui

Last Saturday during our Maui Big Shots! Team Meeting I got a text from Shelli Gardner saying she & her family were on Maui & would like to meet with me & whoever else I wanted to invite.  I read the text to my team & we all went a little crazy!!  I decided to have them over to my house so that we could show them some Maui hospitality.  Last night was the special night.

Me & Shelli.  I’d met her about 5 years ago when I had to stand in line to get a photo with her… and here she is at my house for dinner!

Our family tree:  Crystal (Anne’s Team Leader), Sterling, Shelli, Anne (my Team Leader), & me

Random photos.  Everyone wanted their picture taken with these two celebrities!  We should have gotten autographs, you guys!  Shelli & Sterling were so gracious & down to earth.  We’re so grateful that they shared their vacation time with us!

I have to just say, it was a team effort getting this event together & I appreciate all of you so much that cleaned my house!, brought over delicious food & flowers, helped fill up the gift bag for Shelli.  And you should see my craft room!!  I have to take a picture!  It’s totally picked up!  Kind of a shocker when I walk in here!

After dinner we gathered around the front room asked them random questions.  Learned a bit of history about the journey of Stampin’ Up! and what’s coming up next (30th anniversary event in Orlando!)

Still glowing from the fun evening.  I’m so grateful for all the friends (old & new) I’ve made through Stampin’ Up!  Safe travels, Shelli & Sterling, until we meet again.  A hui hou.

Cake Soiree Gable Box for Alaska Achiever’s Blog Hop

Welcome to the Alaska Achievers Blog Hop where demonstrators around the world who earned the Alaska incentive trip will share fun projects using current Stampin’ Up! products. My name is Cheryl Hamilton and I live on the beautiful island of Maui.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or orders.  I’d love to be your demonstrator!

Today we’ll be sharing our favorite items from the Occasions & Sale-a-Bration Catalogs.  I just LOVE the new Silver Mini Gable Boxes!  Simple to assemble, yet so stunning with that shiny silver!  I’ve added a 12 x 1 1/2″ strip of Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I used Fast Fuse, which I used to hate!  In fact, I threw it away!  A few months later I watched a video showing how you need to press down very lightly, or it will get gummed up.  Now I absolutely LOVE IT!  It’s strong & fast to use!

Fun tip:  Stampin’ Up! even has Ready Shreddie for us to match!

For the tag, I used the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies to cut out this beautiful tag.  The flowers on top are from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit.  Talk about fast & gorgeous!  Perfect if you need to make 150 wedding favors!  I needed these a year ago when my daughter #1 got married!

Thanks for joining us today. You are currently visiting Create With Cheryl with Cheryl Hamilton. Make sure you click through all the links, there are so many inspiring projects!

The star of my blog post today is this charming little bird from Bird Banter!  The birds in this set all have different personalities.  Just love them!  Found the idea for this card on Pinterest, made by Carolynn Saunder.  And this was perfect for my Stampin’ Blends class!  We had fun coloring those birds.

RemARKable Ink Big Blog Hop Bloomin’ Love

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for January 2018. This month our theme is Valentines!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Cheryl Hamilton- Create With Cheryl or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Valentine`s Day is the second most popular day of the year for sending cards, second only to Christmas. There are approximately 1 billion Valentine`s Day cards exchanged every year in the U.S. alone.  I prefer handmade cards where you can see all the love that’s put into making them.

For my valentines, I’ve made a little bag.  Fill it with candy or make a little pull-out note like shown above.

Love this bright, fun paper that’s a FREE SALE-A-BRATON ITEM.  For every $50 you spend choose a FREE Sale-a-Bration item!  CLICK HERE to browse the catalog.

Decided to give candy to my team at our meeting yesterday instead of a note.  They already know I love them!

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently, you are on my blog – Cheryl Hamilton @ Create With Cheryl, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next on the list.
