SSINKTC52 Sponging Sunsets

Aloha all,

Today is all about sunsets!  That’s one thing we have here on Maui… gorgeous sunsets!

The SSINK Design Team will be showing you different sunsets we’ve sponged.  This is a technique that’s really fun to do- every card turns out a little differently.

This is one of the cards featured in this month’s Stamp of the Month Club.  Click on the Stamp of the Month Tab at the top of the post for more information or just email me.

I started by masking the bottom using a post-it note.  Using Stampin’ Sponges, I applied ink by rubbing the sponge in a circular motion.  Start off the page first.  And remember to start light.  You can always add more ink.

So Saffron, Crushed Curry, & a little bit of Flirty Flamingo.

I moved the post-it to the top, then sponged the water with Marina Mist & Soft Sky.  Then I stamped the water image over that & topped it with Wink of Stella.  The window Thinlits are called Hearth & Home & it’s retiring!  So sad… I love that one!

Can’t wait to see what everyone else has to show us!  CLICK HERE to see more sunsets from the SSINK Team!

Sweet Soiree DSP Goodbye Occasions

Image may contain: text

I’m excited to be participating in the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop where today we’ll be bidding farewell to the Occasions Catalog.  There are so many things I’ve loved from this catalog… Myths & Magic, Picture Perfect Party, lots more.  Today I’ll be showcasing Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper– gorgeous!  I’ve made a pretty Legal Notepad Cover with matching pen.

Love this paper!  and the ribbon with the gold edge!  The flower embellishments are from Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit which is packed with fun embellishments- tassels, velvet ribbon, Washi Tape, & more…

Place an order on my on-line store this month & I’ll send you a FREE PDF FILE showing you how to make your own LEGAL PAD COVER WITH PEN.

And if your order is $50 or more, I’ll include a package of leaves trinkets as a Thank You!

Time to hop over to Wallflower Greetings by Becky Browning for more ideas from the Occasions Catalog (leaving us May 31st).

Varied Vases for Mother’s Day

We’re honoring mothers today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration.  Be sure & check out their blog for Mother’s Day ideas!

I couldn’t resist diving into my new Stampin’ Up! goodies to make this card for Mother’s Day!  You won’t have to wait much longer to order, either… June 1st is the big opening day for the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!

I wasn’t sure about Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper just looking at it through the catalog, but when I saw it in person, it was LOVE!  I even just grabbed the top paper without looking through the stack, knowing this would make a gorgeous card for Mom.

I’m started off  this card using CAS(E) this Sketch #270.

Guess I deviated a bit, but it helped get me started, and that’s why I stamped the scallops from  Varied Vases.  Varied Vases!  With a matching PUNCH!  Just perfect and I’m going to get tons of use out of this!  Thank you, Mary Fish, who helped design this set for her $1,000,000 achievement!

I’ve also used Itty Bitty Greetings that I just ordered in CLEAR!  Yay!  I’ve had the set in wood for several years & just can’t see where it’s going when I stamp it.  Who else is like this with their wooden sets?

Before I go, here’s a picture of me & Mom.  I’m so blessed to have her living right next to us in our cottage!  She’s just happy to be near me, even though I don’t even see her all the time.  I’ll often pop in just to bring her mail, some gardenias from the garden or some muffins I’ve just made. She always has a listening ear for me, and some cookies.

LOVE this photo!  Doesn’t Mom look glamorous?!  And she made that dress for me… my favorite at that time.

Well, thanks for letting me ramble a bit.  Moms are nice to have.  and I’m very blessed.

SSINKCC51 Color Challenge

We have a fun color challenge to share with you today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration:  Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, & Lemon Lime Twist.  I think these colors are so pretty together.  And the thing I’m most excited about:  Flirty Flamingo, now an In Color, is coming back TO STAY with the color revamp!!  Yay!

I was inspired after seeing a pretty card on Instagram with a watercolor background & the mermaid on top.  I don’t seem to be able to copy the picture from Instagram (can you do that?), but I can tell you where to find this talented lady on Instagram… chandrajunck888.

Here’s the card I came up with:

I think the secret is starting with watercolor paper!  Makes such a difference.  I put a few drops of ink on my clear block, then painted with my aquapainter, mixing the colors a bit.  I just received my preorder from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  The Nature’s Poem Suite is my absolute favorite!!!  Trees, branches, leaves- with thinlits!!  It’s Lovely as a Tree on steroids!

The copper adds a nice accent, don’t you think?  You’ll find my supply list on the bottom of this post (except for the Rooted in Nature Bundle that will be available for purchase June 1st.  Unless you’re a demo, then you can order it now!  Don’t forget my May Promo… make a $50 order from me on line & I’ll send you a package of leaves trinkets as a Thank You!

Be sure & check out the SSINK Page to see what the other designers did using these pretty colors!  Better yet, add your own card to the challenge!  We’d love to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

ICS Blog Hop- Waterfront

Image may contain: text

Aloha!  Welcome to the ICS Blog Hop where today “It’s a Guy Thing”!  As you follow along on this blog you’ll see lots of card ideas for the men in your life.

I’m using the beautiful Waterfront Set paired with True Gentlemen Designer Series Paper.

It’s so simple to create a beautiful scene using this stamp set!  And I love using the Corduroy Ribbon to add a little texture.

This reminds me… I haven’t been to the beach in awhile.  Just returned from visiting my daughter in Syracuse, NY and I must say it makes me appreciate the Maui climate!  Snow & sleet over there in April!

Here I am at Niagara Falls freezing my tail off!  Fun times!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure & continue hopping with us to see more “guy things”!  Next up is my friend, Nichole Loe, who always has some fun ideas to share!

Here’s my calendar page for May- appropriately dedicated to crafting!

Did you notice those are all the In Colors for 2017 – 2019?  Love those colors!  This cute stamp set is called Crafting Forever.  It’s full of cute stamps:  pens, brushes, corny sayings… a must for every crafter!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you’re fitting some stampin’ therapy into your busy schedule!  Hop on over to check out Anne & Crystal’s May calendars.  They’re sure to have some creative ideas for you.

Stamp of the Month Club: High Tide

Aloha all,

Time to sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club!

You’ll love the set I’ve chosen for May… High Tide!

Build your stamp collection with a new stamp set every month!  Along with each stamp set you’ll receive 3 completed cards using the featured stamp set each month.

Most Clubs like this offer kits that you put together.  But in my experience, kits sometimes don’t get done.  With my Stamp of the Month Club, you’ll receive completed cards, making it simpler for you to recreate the cards using my sample cards.

Another thing you’ll appreciate about my club… there’s no obligation to participate each month!  Just choose the months and stamp sets you want!

Featured Stamp Set for May 2018 – High Tide
(Photopolymer – $36 stamp set plus $8 postage/handling & completed cards with instructions)
My blog is a work in progress right now.  Soon I’ll have a spiffy sign up form, but I haven’t figured that out yet.  So if you want to opt in to the club this month, please just comment at the bottom of this post or shoot me an email.
Here’s a close up of one of the cards:

Pop Up Bouquet for Kre8tors Color Challenge 001

Image may contain: text

Welcome to the Kre8tors Blog Hop for April where today we have a Color Challenge!  #KRE8TORS001

Image may contain: flower and text

Wow!  I was so inspired by this beautiful bouquet that I’ve created one of my own.  But mine can be flattened and sent through the mail!

If you’ve followed my blog for long, you know how I love the Card in a Box!  This is similar, but starts with the Window Box Thinlits.  I played around with this most of the afternoon, trying to figure out how it could fit into an envelope.  I finally found this great video from Mitosu Crafts, explaining how to do this!  I was inspired to make this from Marieke Bart’s gorgeous Pop Up bouquet.

Here it is folded flat.  But I can’t bear to part with it!  Ha!  Are any of you like that when you make a favorite card?

I know I’ll have some requests for a class.  Maybe in May.  April showers bring May flowers!  Let me know if you’d be interested.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I’d love to hear your comments!

Make sure you continue on the Kre8tors Blog Hop to see more colorful creations!
