SSINK Favorite DSP: Delightful Daisy

I just love the new Designer Series Paper Delightful Daisy!  A big variety of beautiful papers!!  And then there’s the Daisy Punch.  I know I’ll get tons of use out of that!

I made a Card in a Box to show off the daisies!  This card folds flat for mailing & is sure to put a big smile on the face of whoever opens it up!  The colors are Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, & Daffodil Delight.

Here’s a close up so that you can better see the Daisy Delight stamp and that gorgeous embellishment, Faceted Gems!  These come in clear or gold.

I’m entering my card into a challenge called HSS Inspiration Challenge 266

Here’s a card I made that showcases this pretty paper:

My favorite piece of this Designer Series Paper is that gorgeous pink/green piece you can see in the top left!!

This card layout is perfect for using up small pieces of your DSP!  I’ll post the dimensions here.

  • Stamps:  Daisy Delight
  • Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral
  • Paper:  Calypso Coral (5 1/2 X 11, scored at 4 1/4), Whisper White (5 1/4 X 4), DSP pieces (3 1/8 X 1 3/4 & 1/3/4 squares)  DSP means Designer Series Paper!

Going Eclectic for SSINKCS46

Here’s the SSINK Card Sketch 46 for June.  I love how these sketches make me come up with my own design, instead of just searching Pinterest (although I do love Pinterest!).

I could have stamped some splotches on the upper left, but I decided to try out my new Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.  Absolutely LOVE these!!

Here’s what I came up with:

Isn’t that cutout fun!!  And I could use the little diamond shapes for a shaker card!  The ribbon is Fresh Fig Finely Woven Ribbon (1/2″) and it’s really soft & easy to work with.

Here’s a tip for stamping clear images when you’re using tiny fonts:  I tried stamping the sentiment using my Fresh Fig Ink Pad, but it was very “juicy” and kept filling in the l’s and o’s.  Then I tried just using the brush side of my Fresh Fig marker and it worked perfectly!

You’ll find all the supplies at the bottom of this post.  Who else loves these thinlits dies?!!  This will be one of the cards we’ll be making for the July In Color Club where the starring color will be…FRESH FIG!  The club members will be receiving everything Fresh Fig in July… Cardstock, Ink Pad, refill, ribbon, marker, and the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack!  Plus bows & glitter shapes just for signing up!

Would you like to join us?  There’s still time!  It’s a 5 month club where we focus on 1 In Color each month.  For $40/month, you’ll have ALL THE IN COLOR SUPPLIES by October!  If you can’t attend the club meetings, I’ll make up the cards for you & send them over with your In Color items for the month.

Now go to the SSINK Card Challenge 46 to see other samples.  And just for fun, please enter our challenge!  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Lovely As a Tree Masculine Birthday

When the retiring list came out, I was so relieved to see that Lovely As a Tree is still with us!  Such a beautiful & versatile stamp set!  The Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is focusing on Masculine Cards today, and I reached for this set to make my card.

I used our new In Color, Tranquil Tide, for this card & I stamped off the background image first to make it a bit lighter.  This is supposed to be a masculine card, but I pulled the sentiment from Beautiful You, a very girly stamp set.  I think it works just fine.

Here’s a similar card without the stamping off.

Which one do you like best?  I can’t decide.  But I do know I love that tree!

Only 3 more days & we have a new catalog!!

Now go check out the other Masculine Cards the SSINK Team has made!

Favorite Stamp Set from the New SU Catalog!

Don’t you just love browsing through the new Stampin’ Up! catalog?!!  Crisp, clean pages filled with new and some old favorites!  I was able to preorder a few sets and my favorite is Colorful Seasons.  It coordinates with Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies to make some very fun images!!  Plus it comes with a die cut Adirondack chair!!

Isn’t this a fun card!  CASEd the idea from Jari Francis, who has a great blog!  Thanks Jari!

I’m liking these colors!  Lemon Lime Twist with Tempting Turquoise & Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry.

Take a look at the inside:

You probably think I’m at the beach every weekend, but the truth is, I rarely go.  I drive by one of the prettiest beaches every day (Hookipa).  But I have a string of visitors coming in the next 2 months that will force me to relax & get sandy!!  Can’t wait!

Time to check out more New Catalog Favorites from the SSINK TEAM!

Thanks for stopping by!

Trendy Tassles & Label Me Pretty

I was in Honolulu last weekend for a wedding and managed to squeeze in some shopping at Ala Moana with my BFF Susie.  We noticed tassles were everywhere!!  Dresses, jeans, purses, shoes, & jewelry!  How does Stampin’ Up! know this stuff??

Today I’m making a birthday card for the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team where the focus is on…you guessed it!  Birthdays!

I’ll also be playing along with a Sketch Challenge from Global Design Project 086!

Here’s my card:

Can you tell I just opened my box of goodies from the brand new 2017-2018 Catalog?!!!  I noticed the Happy Birthday stamp from the Label Me Pretty set.  The best thing is that there’s a punch to match!!!  Love my punches!  Quick & easy!!

I think I like this one even better because of the Tranquil Tide Tassle from the Mini Tassles Assortment Set.  The main colors in this card are Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, & Emerald Envy & I really like how they go together!

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that we get to pre-order new catalog items & play around with them before everyone else!!   These will be available to everyone when the new catalog goes live on June 1st!

Which card do you like best?  And who needs a new catalog?!!  Let me know & I’ll set one aside for you!

Now be sure & go see what else the SSINK Team has come up with for birthdays!

SSINK Card Sketch #45 Eastern Palace

There’s a new Card Sketch Challenge today at www.ssinkspiration.blogspot.com.   I haven’t gotten Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper out of my system yet, and pulled it out again for this sketch.  Here’s my card:

There are so many different looks you can achieve with this paper!  And the stickers!  But the best part of this suite is the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies!  I just love that medallion with the Dapper Denim showing through!

I needed a Birthday Card & decided to add this sentiment from Window Shopping Stamp Set.  That’s the set that goes with the Window Box Thinlits Dies.  Don’t you love the font?!!

Make sure to check out what other ideas the SSINK Team has for this fun sketch!

Pineapple Mahalo for SSINK Color Challenge #45

I grew up on Oahu and had acres and acres of pineapples growing right behind my house in Waipio Valley.  I remember chasing around those fields after school with my dog running beside me.  And they’re easy to grow!  Every time I buy a pineapple & just stick the top in the ground & it will produce a pineapple the next year!

Stampin’ Up! is retiring my Pineapples!!  And the Mahalo!!  I’m sure I won’t be getting rid of those…they come in handy here on Maui!

Card Details:

  • Stamps:  Pineapple, Pop of Paradise, A World of Thanks (ALL RETIRING!)
  • Ink:  Delightful Dijon & Pacific Point
  • Paper:  Pacific Point (4 1/4 X 11, score at 5 1/2 & 1 1/4 X 5), Whisper White (5 1/4 X 4 & 1 X 1 3/4 & 1 X 2 7/8)
  • Accessories:  Gold Wink of Stella (RETIRING!), Linen Thread

Look what I did with my stamp!  Took a little courage, but I’m happy with the results!

Now it’s super fast to stamp with 2 colors!

Thanks for stopping by!  And be sure & pick up some Gold Wink of Stella and other retiring items before they’re gone forever!  SHOP RETIRING PRODUCTS!
