Double Z Fold for #SSINKFF1

Fun Folds are my favorite!!!  And today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration we’re featuring a Double Z Card!  This is so simple & cute that you have to give it a try!!

Here’s how the card starts out.

But when you open it…isn’t that pretty?!!

I started out just wanting to use that gorgeous black background paper!!  That’s the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.

Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper

I’ve seen a lot of variations on the Double Z Fold.  Some move the bottom strip up a bit and others have a wider strip.  Head over to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Page to see more ideas using the Double Z Fold!

SSINK Tranquil Tulips Host Set

Stampin’ Up! Host Sets are special because you are only able to order them after placing a $150 order!  They are also offered at a reduced price- close to 1/2 off!  You can do this by joining one of my clubs where you get to be the hostess when your turn comes around.  Or you can host a workshop & invite your friends!  I bring all the products & you supply the friends!  It’s a great deal and always lots of fun!  Let me know if you’re interested!

There are some beautiful Host Sets in the Annual Catalog and today I’m showing you a sample of my favorite:  Tranquil Tulips.

It’s so simple to make a beautiful card using this set because it’s 2-Step Stamping!  And notice how the images are not completely solid?  That gives it a very pretty, artistic look!

The ribbon is 1/2″ Gingham Ribbon.  Wish they had it in all the colors!!!  But it’s only available in Night of Navy & Smoky Slate.

Here’s a different card- same stamp set:

Another gorgeous ribbon!!  3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon in Bermuda Bay

Time to check out what the other Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration gals have to show you using Host Sets!

SSINK Summer Fun

Today’s theme for Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration is Summer Fun!  I’m using the stamp set called Message in a Bottle which is loaded with some cute images!  A mermaid, whale, octopus & more… I chose to use the boat & put it in the bottle for a more masculine card.

These pictures aren’t the greatest because I can’t get my iphone to sync with my computer.  Frustrating!  But the cards are really cute…honest!

The white cardstock on top is the shimmer paper.  I’ve embossed it with the 3-D Dynamic Textured Folder- Ruffled and then applied a watercolor wash using Soft Sky Ink.  The bottle was fussy cut & popped up using dimensionals.

See the sparkle?

Time to head over to see what the rest of the SSINK Team has for Summer Fun!

#SSINKCS47: Card Challenge Using Marbled Background

No automatic alt text available.

Today we have a Sketch Challenge from the SSINK Team.   Here’s what I came up with:

I’ve used the Marbled Background set & embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged it with Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, and Lemon Lime Twist.  See all the supplies at the end of my post.

I always enjoy trying Card Sketches!  I start out with one idea & it always ends up looking quite differently!  I hope you enter our challenge & would love to see your ideas!

Don’t stop here!  Go to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration page to see some other ideas for this sketch!

SSINK Case the Design Team Member: Nichole Loe

Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team will be CASE-ing one of our own team:  Nichole Loe!  Nichole lives in Tacoma, WA, & has a fun blog that you can find HERE!

Recently Nichole made a card that I just had to CASE!!  I love the idea of using a punch to create the background & then embossing it!

Here’s what I came up with:

Isn’t that fun?!!  I used Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper for the background & Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock for the base.

I’m going to have to buy a ton of those Glitter Enamel Dots!  Love them!!

Here’s another card using Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper:

My daughter, Malia, has been with me for almost a month & we’ve been spending lots of time in my craft room.  She came up with this odd color combo, but I think it looks great!  Lemon Lime Twist & Emerald Envy (Malia’s favorite).

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure & check what the other SSINK Team has CASED from Nichole!

SSINK: A Show of Gratitude, Thank You Cards

Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is featuring Gratitude/Thank You Cards.  I pulled out my Climbing Orchid Bundle because I’ve been anxious to play around with it.  Here’s my Thank You Card:

The colors are Fresh Fig, Crushed Curry, & Whisper White.  The bundle makes it easy to create beautiful orchids!  And that’s one reason I love living in Haiku…orchids!  They love the moisture, I guess, and the way I neglect them!  Haiku’s a sleepy little town with constant tradewinds and lots of farms & agriculture, but it’s just a couple of miles from some of the most beautiful beaches you’ll ever see!

Here’s a different card to show you another orchid stamp in the bundle:

Be sure and check out the other Show of Gratitude Cards from the SSINK Team Designers!  And please leave a comment!  I love hearing from you!

Who loves orchids?  What’s your favorite color for orchids?

SSINK Anything But a Card!

Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation Team won’t be making cards.  In fact, we’ll be focusing on ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

I’m excited to show you a project that will help you organize your life!  My birthdays are all over the place… my computer, calendar, on scraps of paper.  Now I have a system to remember birthdays as well as a place to tuck the cards away that are perfect for a special person!

This project was CASED from 2 people:  Vicki Wizniuk, who has the calendar inserts on her blog, and Erika Cerwin who came up with this great idea!!  They each have tons of great ideas!!

So each month has a pocket for the calendar inserts.  Turn the group over & you have the last 6 months of the year!

I’m offering 2 classes next month so that you can make your own Birthday Boxes!

  • Sunday, August 20 at 3 pm or
  • Monday, August 21 at 10 am
  • Cost is $20 or FREE with your $40 order placed that day
  • Different colors will be offered for your project
  • Class size will be limited, so RSVP ASAP!

Can’t wait to see the other Non-Card Ideas from the SSINK Team!!

SSINK CASE the Catalog

Why don’t I do this more often?!!  I’m talking about CASE-ing the catalog.  I’ve been wanting to play around with my new stamp set, So Many Shells, so I went to page 38 in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

Well, not a big surprise, but I can’t find my Mini Treat Bag Thinlits!!  It’s here somewhere!  So I made a card instead, & LOVE IT!  What do you think?

I just love 2-step stampin’!  And I love that new Ombre Ribbon!!  Supplies listed at the bottom of this post.

SSINK Team: Playing With Punches

I really love my punches!  And this card features 2 of my favorites:  Pansy Punch & the new Decorative Label Punch!  Actually, 3 PUNCHES!  There’s also the Classic Label Punch!

I just love the way it turned out!!  It started with the technique I showed you a few days ago called Ink, Spray, & Smash.  That’s how I made that pretty background using ink drops on Glossy paper.

Sometimes when you make a mistake, or, in my case, can’t find something in this mess of a stamp room, you’re forced to be creative & the project turns out even better!  I wanted to use the Pansy Punch because all I’ve been seeing is daisies!  But my set, Flower Shop, is no where to be found!  So I used the bunch of flowers from Window Box & punched it out with my Pansy Punch.

Here’s a closer look for you:

Time to hop over to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspration Page to see more Punch Ideas!

Thanks for stopping by today!

#SSINKTC47 Technique Challenge: Ink, Spray, Smash

Today we have a fun Technique Challenge for you!!  Stampin’ Up! recently added Glossy Cardstock to the catalog, so we decided on a challenge that uses it.  It was easy & fun & the results are so pretty!!  I think you’re okay without the gloves.

Here’s what I made…another Mermaid Card!!

Isn’t it gorgeous?!!  And every card is unique!

I had to fussy cut the mermaid, which wasn’t too bad.  But here’s another card where I avoided the cutting!

I still really like it.  What do you think?  Fussy cut or no??  For my club members… let me know which one you’d like to make!  We just might have to try out this technique!

That glittery star is a new accessory:  2016-2018 In Color Glitter Acrylic Shapes.  There are little stars, flowers, hearts, & arrows.  Really fun!
