I think this month’s page is my favorite! I love the way these watercolors made the pretty background- just a stamp on top…& done! I found the idea for this from Michelle Quinno at shellsq.blogspot.com. Thanks, Michelle!
Watercolored using Aquapainter: Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, & Tip Top Taupe
Stamped on top using Early Espresso. Stamp sets are Totally Trees & Endless Thanks.
I have so much to be thankful for! The first thing that comes to mind is how thankful I am for the many dear friends I’ve made through stampin’!
Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team will be showcasing favorite Stamp Sets from the Holiday Catalog! My favorite, hands down, is Count My Blessings! This set has beautiful artwork and can be used any time of year!
My team, the Maui Big Shots!, had a stampin’ retreat over Labor Day and this is one of the projects we made:
This is called a Vellum Luminary Card, and it’s very simple to make! You put a battery- candle in the middle & it lights up. So pretty!! The sentiment and leaves are from Count My Blessings and the Designer Series Paper on the left side is Painted Autumn DSP.
I used a technique called “Stained Glass” on the vellum. CLICK HERE to see directions from a previous card.
A Vellum Luminary would be really nice for Christmas! Maybe you’ll see another one here in a month or two.
Don’t you just love the Holiday Catalog?!! Be sure & go to the SSINK PAGE for more Holiday Favorites!
I really love Thanksgiving! Yes, there’s the food. My husband grills the turkey on the Weber every year & it has a slightly smokey flavor & it’s moist, & the best turkey ever!!
Here’s Anne Matasci & me ready for some turkey!
But there’s just something wonderful about pausing to reflect on your blessings for one whole day! We had a tradition when the girls still lived at home where we had a Thankful Turkey that sat out for a couple of weeks. You were supposed to fill it with little notes about things you were thankful for & then we’d read them aloud after dinner. I’ve kept them all over the years & they’re really fun to read!!
One of my fun family memories is when we made Pat get involved with making a new Thankful Turkey. He’s not really into crafting, but when he does it he doesn’t hold back! He must have used 10 glue sticks gluing on those pompoms! These pictures were taken over 10 years ago, by the way.
This is one turkey feather.
Today the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop is Introducing the Holiday Catalog! I’ve chosen to focus on Thanksgiving!
Isn’t that the greatest sentiment?!! And I just love the font! The fall Designer Series Paper is called Painted Autumn & is full of fall colors, leaves, pumpkins, acorns, & pretty patterns.
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure & keep hopping to get a chance to see more new ideas from the Holiday Catalog! Your next stop is Nichole Loe & you’re in for a treat! She always has great ideas!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today, like most of you, I’m busy getting ready for the big day. Along with working. We have a new kitchen! Just got the sink & dishwasher a few days ago…never been so excited to do dishes!
I’ve been playing around with this Fun Fold Card lately- called a Pop Up Panel Card. It’s so much fun to make & really a surprise when opened! I made a Thanksgiving Card using Moroccan Designer Series Paper. The colors are gorgeous and remind me of fall.
I used a 1 1/2″ belly band to close this card & love the way the Layering Circles Framelits cut out this medallion. Here’s the inside:
Thanksgiving is coming up soon! One of my favorite holidays!! My girls will be far away…but Pat & Mom are here and I’ll have a new kitchen! Yea! I’ve been doing dishes in the bathtub for over a month & eating take-out, so I’m ready to cook an amazing meal for Thanksgiving!
Here’s today’s challenge photo for Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration:
I work for a podiatrist and he asked me to make bags for the doctors & nurses that refer to him. Such a great idea, I think! It’s special to commemorate Thanksgiving and “Being Thankful” for our blessings.
Here’s one of the bags (they’re all a bit different!)
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure & take a look at what the other Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team has done for this challenge. Maybe you’ll get some ideas for Thanksgiving decorating!
Paper: Pumpkin Pie Base (5 1/2 X 11, score at 4 1/4), Halloween Night Specialty DSP (5 1/2 X 4, then make a cut at 2 3/4″ that’s 1 1/2″ long- I just use my cutter & place the paper at the 2 3/4″ mark & move the blade down to 1 1/2″ then cut up from there), Smokey Slate, Basic Black, Whisper White scraps
Here’s a Halloween version of the Collar Fold Card:
Isn’t he a cutie?!!
We also decorated Petite Cafe Gift Bag. These bags are very good quality & food safe.
Can you guess what I used to punch out the flower? The balloon punch! And I have to say I LOVE those gold binder clips!! Very sturdy & shiny & cute!!
Hope you enjoyed my projects today! Let me know if you’re interested in trying out CLUB! We meet once a month & you can come on either Saturday or Sunday. I’m also thinking about starting a Monday Club if I get enough interest…
Basically, CLUB is FREE. You just commit to placing a $25 order each month, and when it’s your turn, you get to be the hostess & get extra products that month!
At club last month we all made candles using or stamps. It was so much fun to see what everyone came up with!
I’m in Texas right now at a beautiful house on Lake Belton. In the next few hours this house will be filled with Hamiltons! So for now I’m taking my cup of coffee up to the deck to enjoy the silence and hopefully see a few deer.
I’m so happy to be together with family this Thanksgiving, especially my two daughters. Malia left yesterday to go back to Orlando, but we had such a great visit. I’m also thankful for all of you and can’t wait to get back to stamping with you. Happy Thanksgiving!
Leaves for November. Don’t you love the colors?! Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, and Soft Suede. This stamp set is retired, but we have 2 current leaf sets that are beautiful! Vintage Leaves and Lighthearted Leaves.
I’ll be on the mainland for part of this month & plan to search around for some pretty leaves like this! Looking forward to seeing my two daughters!! Miss them so much!
This is a mini blog hop! So be sure to stop by Crystal & Anne’s blogs to see what they came up with for their November Calendars!
Every 2 months the Maui Big Shots! (my downline) get together to share ideas, do some stamping, and eat! They had some homework from last time and I couldn’t wait to see what they did with it!
Their assignment was to make something with the supplies they were given:
Lost Lagoon Card Base
Mint Macaron Card Stock
Real Red Card Stock
Real Red Satin Ribbon
Metal Rimmed Pearl
They didn’t have to use all supplies and could add things of their own. Here’s the results:
Marylou made this beautiful card using a stamp set that I can’t remember… Marylou, comment & tell us what that is! I love the dazzling diamond sparkles and the gorgeous lace at the bottom! Marylou just couldn’t make the red work! That was definitely the biggest challenge!
Francine made this striking card! And she says she doesn’t do cards well… Hmmm…
Flurry of Wishes
Snow Flurry Punch
Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
Yvette made this gorgeous card!! Wow! Must have taken a lot of concentration to line up those little ornaments so well!
Here’s what I came up with. That red! It was really hard to use that but I just LOVE the results!
Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
