Sweet Soiree DSP Goodbye Occasions

Image may contain: text

I’m excited to be participating in the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop where today we’ll be bidding farewell to the Occasions Catalog.  There are so many things I’ve loved from this catalog… Myths & Magic, Picture Perfect Party, lots more.  Today I’ll be showcasing Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper– gorgeous!  I’ve made a pretty Legal Notepad Cover with matching pen.

Love this paper!  and the ribbon with the gold edge!  The flower embellishments are from Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit which is packed with fun embellishments- tassels, velvet ribbon, Washi Tape, & more…

Place an order on my on-line store this month & I’ll send you a FREE PDF FILE showing you how to make your own LEGAL PAD COVER WITH PEN.

And if your order is $50 or more, I’ll include a package of leaves trinkets as a Thank You!

Time to hop over to Wallflower Greetings by Becky Browning for more ideas from the Occasions Catalog (leaving us May 31st).

Varied Vases for Mother’s Day

We’re honoring mothers today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration.  Be sure & check out their blog for Mother’s Day ideas!

I couldn’t resist diving into my new Stampin’ Up! goodies to make this card for Mother’s Day!  You won’t have to wait much longer to order, either… June 1st is the big opening day for the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!

I wasn’t sure about Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper just looking at it through the catalog, but when I saw it in person, it was LOVE!  I even just grabbed the top paper without looking through the stack, knowing this would make a gorgeous card for Mom.

I’m started off  this card using CAS(E) this Sketch #270.

Guess I deviated a bit, but it helped get me started, and that’s why I stamped the scallops from  Varied Vases.  Varied Vases!  With a matching PUNCH!  Just perfect and I’m going to get tons of use out of this!  Thank you, Mary Fish, who helped design this set for her $1,000,000 achievement!

I’ve also used Itty Bitty Greetings that I just ordered in CLEAR!  Yay!  I’ve had the set in wood for several years & just can’t see where it’s going when I stamp it.  Who else is like this with their wooden sets?

Before I go, here’s a picture of me & Mom.  I’m so blessed to have her living right next to us in our cottage!  She’s just happy to be near me, even though I don’t even see her all the time.  I’ll often pop in just to bring her mail, some gardenias from the garden or some muffins I’ve just made. She always has a listening ear for me, and some cookies.

LOVE this photo!  Doesn’t Mom look glamorous?!  And she made that dress for me… my favorite at that time.

Well, thanks for letting me ramble a bit.  Moms are nice to have.  and I’m very blessed.

Petal Passion for Kylie’s International Blog Hop

Image may contain: text

Welcome to Kylie’s International Blog Hop!  Today you’re sure to see some fabulous projects using current Stampin’ Up! products.  This month is a special month for Sara, our CEO!  She’s done so much for others, we want to give back to her this month!  Sara has a passion for giving and reaching out to others, and she’s encouraged everyone involved in Stampin’ Up! to give back to their own communities!  Can you imagine the impact she’s had?!  So… we’re all making cards for Sara this month!

My downline group, the Maui Big Shots! has adopted Hale Kau Kau and Hospice Maui as 2 local organizations we have a passion for & would like to help.  We plan to help serve meals at Hale Kau Kau every other month and to make cards for them & Hospice Maui.  I was a nurse at Hospice Maui for many years and continue to volunteer for them.  It’s such a privilege to be involved with them!  Each year they ask me to help out at their Bereavement Support Day just before the holidays.  I have a table set up so that they can make ornaments with messages & their loved one’s photo.  People share their stories as they cut & paste, reminiscing about the person they’re missing so much.

I’m really into Fun Folds, but haven’t tried this one until today.  I kept thinking it looked too difficult, but it’s really simple!!  With a big WOW when the card is opened!

Here’s the card front… pretty!

But look when it’s opened!

Don’t you love it?!  And what a perfect way to show off our fabulous Designer Series Paper!  It’s called a Tri Shutter Card & I’ll be working on a tutorial today for my club gals.

And I think it’s perfect for Sara, who really does make the world a better place!  Mahalo, Sara, for all you do!

If you like my card, PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!

The Top Ten winners will take part in an international blog hop on June 6th/7th.  This has been a goal of mine for a long time & I haven’t made it yet… maybe May is my month!  Thanks so much!!

Rooted in Nature Sympathy

Today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration we are CASING Pamela Wu!  Pamela & I have become good friends through this blog, even though we’ve never met (yet…).  I have quite a few girlfriends like that I’ve met through stamping and they’ve been such a blessing in my life!

When I saw this card made by Pamela, I knew I wanted to CASE it!  It’s simple, but so pretty- such a great layout.  CASE means “Copy & Share Everything”.  The idea is to start with a card you love and either make one exactly alike, or change it up a bit.  Just be sure & give credit to the original artist!

Here’s Pam’s card:

And here’s my CASE:

I really appreciate a nice Sympathy Card.  They’re probably the most difficult card to write, but the most important.  When Pat’s mom passed away several months ago we received some beautiful cards that we cherish & will never throw away.

You can see I’m playing with my new stuff!!  I started with the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper & chose the colors from there.  I wanted a masculine card (no doily) & found Graceful Glass Designer Vellum (you guys are going to LOVE THIS!) and cut the circle out with Layering Circles Framelits.  The font on the Painted Glass set goes perfectly with the stained glass look.

I have a special May Promo… make a $50 order from me on line & I’ll send you a package of leaves trinkets as a Thank You! (greater than $9 value!)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure & go to the SSINK PAGE to see what others have CASED from Pamela!

ICS Blog Hop- Waterfront

Aloha!  Welcome to the ICS Blog Hop where today “It’s a Guy Thing”!  As you follow along on this blog you’ll see lots of card ideas for the men in your life.

I’m using the beautiful Waterfront Set paired with True Gentlemen Designer Series Paper.

It’s so simple to create a beautiful scene using this stamp set!  And I love using the Corduroy Ribbon to add a little texture.

This reminds me… I haven’t been to the beach in awhile.  Just returned from visiting my daughter in Syracuse, NY and I must say it makes me appreciate the Maui climate!  Snow & sleet over there in April!

Here I am at Niagara Falls freezing my tail off!  Fun times!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure & continue hopping with us to see more “guy things”!  Next up is my friend, Nichole Loe, who always has some fun ideas to share!

#SSINKCS51 Card Sketch Challenge

Image may contain: text

We have a fun Sketch Challenge for you to participate in at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration!  This is a great way to help you get started when you’re making a new card.  We hope you’ll participate in our challenge.

Here’s what I came up with:

This set is special because I got it FREE in Prize Patrol when I was in Salt Lake City in November for On Stage!  It’s called Lovely Wishes.  I really love these colors together!  Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, & Lemon Lime Twist.  I’m trying to come up with colors for my blog.  Time to make some changes!  But I’m very wishy washy so far… changing my mind every day!

Sale-a-Bration is over!  Waaaaa!  It was sure fun while it lasted.  And one thing we all know about Stampin’ Up!… they always have something up their sleeve!  I’m heading to Las Vegas for On Stage this weekend!!  Maybe I’ll win another Prize Patrol!

Make sure you head over to the SSINK PAGE to see what the other designers have done with this challenge.
