SSINK: Wedding Wishes

It’s been almost a year since my daughter, Jenny & Vitalis were married!  Time flies, doesn’t it?  I haven’t seen them since the wedding and I’m really missing them!

Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is focusing on Weddings!  I’ll tell you how I came up with today’s card…

When my team of demonstrators (The Maui Big Shots!) gets together, we usually have a card challenge.  Our July Challenge was to make something using these items:

Here’s the card I made!

I chose Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper as the background to go with that diamond overlay and made this into a square card.  This would be fun for an engagement card!  Here’s the inside:

Before I go I want to show you a couple of the challenge results!

Marylou made this gorgeous card!  Can you find the bow??  She took it apart!!  Talk about resourceful!  Love your card, Marylou!!

This is Helen.  She always comes up with the unexpected!!

Please be sure & comment on our challenge!!  I know Marylou & Helen would be thrilled to hear from you!

Time to go check out what the SSINK Team has come up with for Wedding Wishes!

#SSINKCS41 Doilies & Lace

Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation Team has a Card Sketch Challenge!  Hope you play along!

For this challenge, I dove into my new box of items and used some from the New Occasions Catalog as well as Sale-A-Bration!

This card has so many of my favorites!  Blushing Bride & Sahara Sand.  The font on this new stamp set, Falling For You. Lace from a FREE Sale-A-Bration set, Delicate Details.  Falling in Love Designer Series Paper.  And new Lace Doilies that are Very Vanilla.

Here’s the inside:

We’ll be making this card at our January Clubs.  Join us if you want to see what club is about!  Just place a $25 order at club.  If you want to join, you get to be hostess when your turn comes around!  That means lots of FREE STUFF!

This card’s a little different.  Can you find the differences?!!

Project Life!

I’m excited to show you two ideas for Project Life!  Please bear with me because it’s difficult to capture these pages in photos.  Trust me!  They’re really fun, cute, & super quick to put together!!

The first is to give a Project Life Kit as a Christmas Gift to someone who might enjoy using it to collect their memories!  Last night I started a kit for my nephew, Abe.  He’s really into making cards using My Paper Pumpkin, and I think he’ll love Project Life!

Some of you will remember… Abe & I were featured in Stampin’ Success Magazine this past October.  I printed off the article for the adjacent page.

Abe has been in Special Olympics for many, many years & even went to Greece to participate!  He was King at his Senior Prom.  He’s been on a real billboard.  He’s been on the news for his Random Acts of Kindness that he does every year on his birthday.  Basically, Abe’s AMAZING!

I’ll just mail Abe the album with some extra insert sheets, the Project Life Card Kit, some Project Life pens & some Washi Tape.  He can do the rest!

The next thing I want to show you is what I’m putting together for my daughter, Jenny, who was married October 29th.  She was lucky to have 2 showers:  one in Texas, where she’s living and one on Maui, where she grew up.  Both showers had a tea party theme and I asked people to bring their favorite recipes.  So her Project Life Album will be a very special Recipe Book!

project-life-create-with-cheryl3

I used the front page for the invitation.  This paper and tea kettle is now retired (unfortunately!) but I wanted to show you.

project-life-create-with-cheryl4

Here you can see how I put the recipe from her high school friend, Debbie next to their picture.  I used a cake photo from the shower & stamp set & thinlits.  The background papers are from the Love Story Project Life Kit.  There’s also Washi Tape on there.  Fun to put together & very simple.  In fact, I think it looks a little better if you don’t embellish too much, or it will look “busy”.

Here you can see where I used one of the cards she received (the umbrella).  The possibilities are endless!

Hope you’re inspired to purchase a kit!  Now go check out what the other Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team has put together for Project Life!

Ridiculous Happiness for SSINKCS39

Today the SSINK Team will be making cards using this Card Sketch:

I love doing these sketches!  They force me to come up with something all my own.  I wanted to use this cute Moroccan Washi Tape, so that’s what I started with.  That Moroccan DSP has some gorgeous colors!  Especially that Emerald Envy paired with Delightful Dijon & Early Espresso!

Card Details:

  • Stamps:  Cottage Greetings
  • Ink:  Early Espresso
  • Paper:  Very Vanilla Card Base (5 1/2 X 11, scored at 4 1/4), Emerald Envy (4 X 3 1/4), Moroccan DSP (3 3/4 X 3),

Bokeh Technique for Club

I’m home from a fun, fun week of wedding planning!!  Jenny found the perfect dress!!!IMG_2539  Found the bridesmaids dresses, my dress, had a fabulous Tea Bridal Shower for Jen.  And spent the week with daughter #2, Malia, & Diana (Mother-in-Law to be).  I’ll show you a few photos of the shower.

Everyone brought Jenny a recipe, so I have a perfect Project Life Idea!!  Stay tuned…

Ok.  Back to what I started with!  I’m planning May’s club projects and so far this is what I’ve come up with.

Bokeh Technique Create With Cheryl This card starts by stamping leaves in Stazon Ink, masking off the center & sponging with Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, & Pear Pizzazz.  Then I made a template using the window sheets that I punched circles in & sponged with Whisper White Craft Ink.  It’s really fun to do & surprising how cool they turn out!

May Club dates are May 15 & 21st.  Click here for details!

We’ll be getting out the Aqua Painters to do a little watercoloring.  You’ll be amazed at how artistic you are!!  They’re very simple & fun to use.

  • Paper:  Sahara Sand  (8 1/2 X 5 1/2 & 2 7/8 X 4 1/8), Basic Black (4 X 5 1/4 & 2 5/8 X 3 7/8), Whisper White (2 1/2 X 3 3/4), Something Borrowed DSP (3 7/8 X 5 1/8)
  • Stamp Set:  Love is Kindness
  • Ink:  Momento Ink, Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride
  • Accessories:  Sahara Sand Lace Trim (love!)

Golden Wedding Anniversary!

Happy 50th Anniversary to a very special couple…Louella & Lew!!  Louella’s one of my favorite people to stamp with!  A very sweet person with a never-ending sense of humor.  Could be one of the reasons she and Lew have been married for 50 years!

IMG_8274Came up with this design by following FMS178:

I wanted another color besides gold, and Crisp Cantaloupe works well with the gold.  And this is the first time I’ve used Gold Satin Ribbon.  It’s just beautiful and very high quality!IMG_8275

Supplies Used:

  • Paper:  Crisp Cantaloupe & Whisper White CS, Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Foil Sheet (5 1/2 X 3 3/4), Gold Glimmer Paper
  • Stamp Sets:  Big News, Regarding Dahlias, Bravo
  • Embellishments:  Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Circle Framelits #6, Small Heart Punch, Chalk Talk Framelits, Bigz Simple Numbers, Gold Embossing Powder

I’ve been into vellum lately.  It’s something I usually don’t use much, but I really love the results!  Here’s another vellum card I recently made…IMG_8224

This weekend I plan to play with my FREE SALE-A-BRATION VELLUM!!  There’s still time!  Spend $50 & get free SAB product!  Contact me before the end of March to take advantage of this great sale!

Indescribable Gift on Vellum

The flower image on the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set is so beautiful!!  Perfect for stamping on vellum!

IMG_8224

The idea for this beautiful card comes from Becky Cowley.  I stamped the image with Momento Ink and then colored it using Blendabilities.  You could also use your markers or Blender Pen.  I turned the image over to give it a softer look.

IMG_8228Here’s a different look in blue:

IMG_8227In the background, you can see “happily ever after”.  I’ve used Big News and Blessed By God for the sentiments and done some Gorgeous Grunging!

Please leave me a comment!  Tell me if you’d like to make any of my cards in a class or at club, and I’ll make sure and add them to the menu…

Supplies used:

  • Pink Pirouette and Pool Party Card Stock
  • Vellum (3 X 3 3/4)

Pretty Gold Soiree

Here’s one of the cards we made in this month’s Stamp-a-Stack:

IMG_5089

I just love the new DSP Specialty Paper, Gold Soiree!  The colors are gorgeous! Gold Soiree DSP You can purchase it HERE!IMG_5090I really like this layout, too!  That’s why I give all the measurements…so it’s simple to re-make.

IMG_5091Louella changed hers up a bit because she needed a wedding card. IMG_5080 IMG_5081Isn’t that pretty?!  She used Curly Cute (retired) for the sentiment.

Also, you’ll notice I’ve been working on my blog!  Quite a challenge for me!!  I still have Cheryl’s Holiday Events on the top, & that’s not for 2014!!  Watch for more changes…I’m optimistic!!

Thanks for looking & have a great week!
