Allelujah! Christ is risen! Easter is the most important celebration for Christians and I wanted to make a banner to remind me and others in my home about this wonderful event!
It’s challenging for me to get a good photo of this project, but I hope you get the idea. Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper makes a pretty background for my banner. I just added some coordinating cardstock, some Easter Stamps and butterfly punches. Don’t you just love how all the Stampin’ Up! products coordinate so nicely!
Here’s a closer look:
Notice the sparkle on the cloth draped over the cross! Wink of Stella!
Love the Butterflies Thinlits, especially with a Vellum butterfly on top!
The supplies for this project are listed at the bottom of this post. Most of them are RETIRING PRODUCTS, so be sure to grab them now before they’re gone!!
The Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation team has Spring Fever! Thanks for joining us today to see what says “Spring” to all of us!
Spring had me reaching for the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper, which is covered with gorgeous floral designs. The best thing about it is the colors! You’ve got the pinks & purples and then there’s the blues & greens. Today I’ll be playing around with the blue/green papers.
I made a Double Gate Fold Card, which shows off this paper beautifully!
I just love it!! I added that small circle with the flower on the right & stuck it on using a Dimensional. It’s meant to tuck the large circle underneath to secure it.
There’s a coordinating Stamp Set (of course!) called Blooms & Wishes. I love how Stampin’ Up! has papers, stamps, and colors that all coordinate!!
Here’s another version I made that steps it up a bit:
Can you find the difference? No wasted DSP here! And look when it’s opened!
Here’s some basic directions for the Double Gate Fold Card:
Card Base: 5 1/2″ x 12″ piece of Designer Paper (easier if you use paper without “up & down”
Score at 2″, 4″, 8″, & 10
With a ruler make a mark up the 5 1/2″ side of the paper at 2 3/4″ on both sides
Cut from this mark to the second score line on both sides
Flip the cut off triangle over and adhere on the bottom of the card, allowing you to see both sides of the beautiful paper
Inside: Cut Card stock 5 ¼ X 3 ¾ & top with Whisper White 5 X 3 ½
If you’d rather follow along in class to make this card, come to one of my April Cards, Etc. Classes!
2 dates to choose from:
Monday, April 24th at 10 am or
Saturday, April 29th at 2 pm
Now hop on over to see what Nichole has made for our Spring Fever Hop!
This week the Global Design Project is CASING Louise Sharp. I love participating in their challenges because they have great sketches and help me with a beginning idea. Here’s what I came up with for this sketch:
What a beautiful image that is! And I love the verse that goes with it. I used the Banner Framelits in place of Louise’s tag. And I have this set on loan from my friend, Marylou, and wanted to play with it more before returning it. I think I just may need to get one of my own! The pretty Designer Series Paper is Blooms & Bliss I used watercolor pencils & an aquapainter to color the image. Here’s a closer look so you can see the sparkle from Wink of Stella:
To make this card, just check my supply list at the bottom of this post. Now, be sure to check out what other stampers have come up with for this sketch at the Global Design Project!
Stampin’ Up! has a great sale this month on Designer Series Paper! Buy 3, get 1 FREE! Today the SSINK Team is focusing on their favorite DSP. I have to admit I change my mind about this weekly, but I really love the colors in the paper, Blooms & Bliss!
Stamps: Build a Birthday
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Blushing Bride Card Base (5 1/2 X 11, scored at 4 1/4), Blooms & Bliss DSP (5 1/2 X 4, then make a cut at 2 3/4″ that’s 1 1/2″ long- I just use my cutter & place the paper at the 2 3/4″ mark & move the blade down to 1 1/2″ then cut up from there), Rich Razzleberry & Sahara Sand scraps
Yesterday I went over to Anne’s with my box of new Stampin’ Up! stuff & we spent the day being creative & catching up. So much fun!!
Here’s a few of the things I came up with:
This is the first thing I grabbed to play with. Best Birds Stamp Set & the coordinating framelit. It’s now on the top of my Wish List! That gorgeous paper is Blooms & Bliss DSP.
Foxy Friends comes with coordinating DSP stack & Fox Punch. I can tell there’s 100 things you can do with this set!
This Love You Lots Hostess Set is so, so cute!! And the easle from Painter’s Palette… can’t wait to see all the ways I can use that set!
And here’s Anne, who had everything set up for me & made me a delicious lunch! One of the best things about stamping with her was that when I’d get stuck, she’s give me ideas to finish off the card perfectly! Thanks, Anne! Fun day!
Yesterday afternoon I received my highly anticipated box of new products from Stampin’ Up! that were JUST FOR ME! A whole box full!! I was stuck at where to begin. So I headed straight to Mojo Monday for inspiration!
I wanted to use the gorgeous Designer Series Paper, Blooms & Bliss paired with Flourishing Phrases.
Here’s the card I came up with:
I used the swirl from Swirly Scribbles Thinlits under the sentiment and glued the leftover on the bottom to balance things out. I wasn’t sold on that until I used it & now I’m in love! Do you ever do that too? Many times I’m not sure about a stamp until I ink it up & that’s all it takes!
Make sure you check out what everyone else has come up with for this fun challenge at Mojo Monday!
