Masculine Graduation Card for Kylie’s International Blog Hop

I love a good challenge, and Kylie has one for us at the Kylie’s International Blog Highlight May 2017, where the theme is “Masculine” card.  I needed a  graduation card & really like the message this card sends!

Here’s what I came up with:

I love the colors of this card!  Soft Suede & Soft Sky, with a bit of Sahara Sand.  And the textures!

These sets are retiring and I’ll miss them!!  It’s always hard when Stampin’ Up! comes up with their RETIRING LIST!!  But I have to admit, I love the new catalog that will be available in June!

#SSINKCS38: Card Sketch

This is one of my favorite Card Sketches!

]I could have gone in so many directions with this, but reached for By the Shore Designer Series Paper to get the idea started.ssink-october-card-sketch

I used the “Rock ‘N Roll Technique to jazz up the stamped images a bit.  That’s done by inking the image in one color, then rolling the stamp edges around in another color.

Don’t you like that burlap ribbon?!  It has a tiny touch of bling.

Here’s the card details:

  • Stamps:  Seaside Shore
  • Ink:  Crumb Cake & Marina Mist
  • Paper:  Crumb Cake Card Base (5 1/2 X 11, scored at 4 1/4), Dapper Denim (5 1/4 X 4), By the Shore DSP (5 1/8 X 3 7/8)
  • Accessories:  Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Burlap Ribbon, Gold Sequin Trim
  • ssink-october-card-sketch-2

I think this is a good masculine card.  I think I can get away with 4 sequins for a guy, don’t you?

Pokemon Go Punch Art!

It’s my kid’s fault!!  I’ve gotten caught up in the latest craze…Pokemon Go!

Last week my 2 daughters & I were in Charleston, SC, making wedding plans for my daughter, Jenny, who will be getting married there in 3 months!  None of us had ever been there and there are so many details to planning a wedding!  We had a lot of fun, but it was very stressful!

So…to de-stress, we’d walk over to the park across from our hotel & try to catch ’em all!! The park was LOADED with Pokemon!  And also loaded with a crowd of people staring at their phones walking around.

So when I decided to make a Punch Art Card for the Stylin’ Stampin’INKspiration Team, I knew just what I wanted to make!Pokemon Punch Art Createwithcheryl.me

This little guy is called Octillery.  To make him, I used my Owl Punch & cut out a few shapes from Flower Fair Framelits.  Then I stuck on some shiny Enamel Shapes.  Pokemon Punch Art Createwithcheryl.me2In the background you’ll see By the Shore DSP embossed with little white bubbles.

Here’s a picture of the inside:
