Favorite Stamp Set from the New SU Catalog!

Don’t you just love browsing through the new Stampin’ Up! catalog?!!  Crisp, clean pages filled with new and some old favorites!  I was able to preorder a few sets and my favorite is Colorful Seasons.  It coordinates with Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies to make some very fun images!!  Plus it comes with a die cut Adirondack chair!!

Isn’t this a fun card!  CASEd the idea from Jari Francis, who has a great blog!  Thanks Jari!

I’m liking these colors!  Lemon Lime Twist with Tempting Turquoise & Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry.

Take a look at the inside:

You probably think I’m at the beach every weekend, but the truth is, I rarely go.  I drive by one of the prettiest beaches every day (Hookipa).  But I have a string of visitors coming in the next 2 months that will force me to relax & get sandy!!  Can’t wait!

Time to check out more New Catalog Favorites from the SSINK TEAM!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cycle Celebration

My June Calendar Page really says SUMMER to me!  June 2015The stamp set is Cycle Celebration and Kinda Eclectic sun, Work of Art clouds & Gorgeous Grunge road.  I can remember riding my bike around for hours in the summer evenings until it was time for dinner.  This was when my mom would kick us outside to entertain ourselves…way before cell phones or computers!

I just finished reading a book called The Circle by Dave Eggers that kind of creeped me out!  It was basically a modern re-telling of 1984, set within the context of a tech company in the present day.  Now I find myself being more aware of the time I’m spending on computer and what I say on Facebook!  Spent some time outside today in the garden just digging in the dirt.  That’s summer to me!

Indescribable Gift on Vellum

The flower image on the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set is so beautiful!!  Perfect for stamping on vellum!

IMG_8224

The idea for this beautiful card comes from Becky Cowley.  I stamped the image with Momento Ink and then colored it using Blendabilities.  You could also use your markers or Blender Pen.  I turned the image over to give it a softer look.

IMG_8228Here’s a different look in blue:

IMG_8227In the background, you can see “happily ever after”.  I’ve used Big News and Blessed By God for the sentiments and done some Gorgeous Grunging!

Please leave me a comment!  Tell me if you’d like to make any of my cards in a class or at club, and I’ll make sure and add them to the menu…

Ornamental Pine

You may not think of Hawaii as having pine trees, but there are a bunch of them if you hike upcountry Maui in an area called Polipoli.  I have lots of wonderful memories of hiking there with my husband & my girls & exploring a cave, which my girls called the  “Cave of Wonders”.  Here’s Jenny & Malia, who will both be graduating from college in a couple of months.  Time flies…IMG_20140913_0005 (2)

This simple card uses the set Ornamental Pine, along with Gorgeous Grunge.

Not so Spooky Raven

Oct 2014 2I was trying to come up with a “spooky” Edgar Allen Poe raven thing, but failed when I added “Boo to you”!  I still like it, though!

The background is made by using a “mask” cut from Labels Collection Framelits.  I stamped it with Gorgeous Grunge in Sahara Sand ink.  Leaves & raven are stamped in Elegant Eggplant using Choose Happiness.  Blossoms are from Summer Silhouettes and Boo to You is from a Hostess Set called Good Greetings.  I received that set FREE at convention!!  Love when that happens!!!

Oct 2014 3Time to check out what Crystal and Anne have done with their calendars this month!  They always have new ideas, so check them out!!

June Calendar

This month I’ve done a little coloring on my calendar page.

IMG_4906

I used Life in the Forest and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets- masking technique.  Here’s another look:

IMG_4908

See the difference?  The first one is colored using our markers and the 2nd I used the Aqua Painter.  Which one do you like best?IMG_4911Markers

Homemade Sympathy Cards

I like to put special care into making Sympathy Cards.  I think a homemade card at this time gives it more of a personal touch, showing how much you care.

Createwithcheryl.me Colour Me

I created this card using a little inspiration from 2 challenges:  Colour Me_Graphic

and The Card Concept 4 CAS StyleColour Me 4 I’ve started participating in a few challenges and they help me to step out of my comfort zone a bit and come up with my own cards, instead of just casing others.  The colors I used were Soft Sky (5 3/8 X 4 1/8), Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, & Very Vanilla (base card & 5 1/8 X 3 7/8).  Stamp Sets:  Gorgeous Grunge, Papaya Collage, & Simply Sketched. Createwithcheryl.me Colour Me 2

The middle uses a 2 1/2″ circle punch & floral frames framelit, Boho Blossoms Punch, Vintage Faceted Designer Button tied with Linen thread.

Here’s one of my favorite Sympathy Cards from the past:

Apothecary Art Sympathy

If you’d like to make a sympathy card, birthday card, baby card, & more… this is the last day to sign up for my Tuesday afternoon class (Feb. 25 at 2pm).

Thanks for looking & have a great Sunday!
