One of the best things about being at onstage in Salt Lake City is being able to meet people I’ve been in contact with over Facebook and a blog hop. Last night the I CS team met up to swap and go out for dinner and we just had a blast! Love these ladies !
This is Deb Naylor, our fearless leader. She is so organized and enthusiastic and is full of great ideas.
I think all of us have had friends of family with cancer. Such a tough thing to go through. There’s no right or wrong way to navigate through that, but one thing I’ve seen over & over is COURAGE. Courage and faith.
As I write this post, my dear friend, Chari, is going through her first chemotherapy for breast cancer. I can’t be with her, but we keep messaging back & forth, and that helps a lot. When I first moved to Maui, I didn’t know anyone & I attended a Christian Woman’s Club luncheon. Chari sat next to me & I was so touched when she just came out & asked if we could be friends. Sure!! She & her husband were new to the island, also, and we all ended up spending lots of time together. We all learned to windsurf, had babies, spend many years together on Maui until they moved to Washington.
Here’s a card for Chari:
Double Z Fun Fold Card
Card Base Wisteria Wonder – 4 1/4″ X 11″, scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
Delightful Daisy DSP – two pieces at 2 1/2″ X 4″, one at 4″ X 5 1/4″
White layer – 3 1/4″ X 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ & 6 3/8″
God bless you, Chari! You’ll get through this. There are so many people who love you & are praying for you!!
The more I use these new In Colors, the more I just LOVE THEM!!
I was asked by my BFF Susie (my Honolulu buddy from single days…) to make a special card for her friend who was retiring from teaching. Special card makes me think: Card in a Box!
Aren’t those colors gorgeous?!! And I thought the chair & drink were the quintessential “retirement”! The beautiful Designer Series Paper is called Naturally Eclectic. I paired it with the In Color Designer Series Paper called Fresh Florals.
The sentiments from Wild About Flowers mainly focus on retirement. Notice how the word retirement is 2-toned. That was simple to do because the word retirement is a separate stamp. I stamped it in Lemon Lime Twist, then just dipped the bottom in Fresh Fig.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you’re inspired to play around with some of the great new In Colors! Be sure & continue the HOP for more 2017-2019 In Color Ideas!
Next be sure & continue on the blog hop to see more In Color ideas!
Today’s theme for the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop is “It’s a Guy Thing”. Last week when I was sorting through my retired stamps, I was happy to see that Hardwood is still current! That set has just been sitting there for some reason & I’m determined to get a lot of use out of it!
I just love these 2 colors together: Soft Suede & Soft Sky! The large Happy Birthday needed something in the background. Gorgeous Grunge may be retired, but we still have Timeless Textures! There are some beautiful patterns in there!
Is the torn edge out of style? I don’t see it much, but I think it fits with this card.
Our Blog Hop Theme today is “It’s a Girl Thing”!! Love it! I could go many different directions with this one!
I’m so fortunate to have 2 daughters, Jenny & Malia. When they were little, I had a business called Lovebugs, & I used to make cute little outfits for them. You could never have too much glitter or pink! Never too many hearts or flowers! Here’s an old photo of them wearing one of my outfits:
I managed to use some pink, glitter, a flower, some bling and a doily for my girly card. Here it is!
Look closely and maybe you can find the sparkle…
Here’s the details in case you’d like to make one like it!
