Have you ever tried the Reflection Technique? I think you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to do! Today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation we’re focusing on the Reflection Technique and hope you’ll play along with our challenge!
I’m not really very good at sponging, but getting better with practice. Here’s a card I made with a left-over piece from a card I messed up on. I think I like it even better than the card above! What do you think?
I’m trying to earn the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Greece in 2019, but have quite a ways to go! Here you can see my progress! Looks like I just passed Mexico!
Fall Frenzy is today’s theme for the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation Team! I’m not feelin’ the “fall” here on Maui! It’s just plain hot!
I came up with my card idea by following a sketch from Fab Friday.
Here’s my card:
I reached for the old standby… Lovely As a Tree then added a nice sentiment from Paisleys & Posies. The leaf embossing in the background gives it just the right touch. I’ve used sponges to give some color to the trees & grass.
Here I used the Tree Rings background instead of textured leaves. Which card do you prefer? I’m trying to come up with ideas for the September Cards, Etc Class!
Thanks for stopping by today! I’d really love to hear your comments to help me choose which card to make for class!
When the retiring list came out, I was so relieved to see that Lovely As a Tree is still with us! Such a beautiful & versatile stamp set! The Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is focusing on Masculine Cards today, and I reached for this set to make my card.
I used our new In Color, Tranquil Tide, for this card & I stamped off the background image first to make it a bit lighter. This is supposed to be a masculine card, but I pulled the sentiment from Beautiful You, a very girly stamp set. I think it works just fine.
Here’s a similar card without the stamping off.
Which one do you like best? I can’t decide. But I do know I love that tree!
It’s been hot and muggy on Maui for several weeks! Hurricane weather. Trying to come up with Christmas Card ideas, I just couldn’t get myself to stamp any snow scenes. Here’s what I came up with:
At my August Card Class, we made a similar card and everyone really liked the technique. Found the idea here on Stampin’ Connection.
Here’s the one from class:
I really, really love this card, but not for the reason you think. The palm and the Hawaiian Santa were a gift from a dear friend, Wendy. Wendy is the person who got me into stamping many years ago (24 years?!) when our kids were in preschool together. I remember dropping our kids off then heading over to her house for a few hours of stamping. We’d stamp some images in a few different colors and just ooh and aah over our creations! I don’t even think we had any layers or embellishments, but I was HOOKED!!
Wendy passed away after a long battle with breast cancer about 2 years ago. I helped to care for her for the last 6 months and was very blessed by her courage, her friendship, and her faith.
I’m not really sure how to end this post… so I’ll just say that one of the best things about stamping is the friends I’ve made!

It’s that time of year when Stampin’ Up! retires many stamps & products to make room for new things. One of my favorite punches is retiring: the Ornament Punch! If you don’t have it, this is the time to purchase it before supplies run out!
I just got this for a friend for her birthday & added these cards to give her ideas…
Stamp Sets: Summer Silhouettes, My Friend
This gives a pretty effect when you open the card. I’ve cut out the ornament shape & glued a sheet of Designer Series Paper on the back, so when you open the card, you have a pretty design on the top. Stamp Sets: Everything Eleanor & Open Sleigh (retiring).
