A Little Something for Christmas

A Little Something

I had the day off work today & spent a few fun, creative hours of stampin’!  I just love the old-fashioned look of Home for Christmas DSP!

  • Stamp Set:  A Little Something
  • Paper:  Very Vanilla Card Base, Mint Macaron (4 X 3 3/4), Home for Christmas DSP (3 3/4 X 3 1/2), Real Red & Whisper White
  • Accessories:  Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon, Bright Candy Dots,  Circle Framelits (#4 & #5), Starburst Framelits Dies (#3)

That mint color is my favorite right now!  So pretty with the red!

CASED an old Easter card of mine for inspiration.

Back to work tomorrow, but it sure was fun today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hurricane Stampin'

Well…it all started with our club swaps last month.  Marylou made this beautiful card using the Starburst Technique, that I’d wanted to try but hadn’t gotten around to.

IMG_6196So this morning I dug through my tutorials and came up with a couple of cards.

I’ll be the first to admit this is a strange mixture of colors!  But I like to step out of my comfort zone once in a while & I think it’s happy & it works!  This was one of the free “Prize Patrol” items I won at convention:  Flowerpot DSP!

  • Stamp Sets:  Trust God, Bordering Blooms
  • Colors:  Whisper White (5 1/4 X 4), Pink Pirouette (5 3/8 X 4 1/8)
  • Accessories:  Flowerpot DSP, Starburst Framelits, Decorative Label Punch, 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon, Sponge Daubers

Now, this one I really like!!  I’d like to say that I meant to make the bottom crooked, but well, I was stampin’ in a hurricane.  That’s my excuse!  That’s another wonderful thing about my “hobby”… you can totally stamp, cut, & glue without electricity!!  IMG_6213The flower is made by punching 3 flowers with my Pansy Punch, making 5 cuts down the middle of the petals, sticking a brad with a candy dot in the middle, then scrunching it up a little.

We’ll be making this card at club this weekend…assuming we have club!  It’s all depending on these 2 hurricanes…I’ll keep you all posted.

Gotta hurry & post this before the lights shut off again!

Thirsty, anyone?

IMG_6181This water bottle with iced tea is the perfect way to say I’m thankful for you…maybe for a teacher, a bus driver, your favorite UPS driver!- think of all the people come in contact with every day!

IMG_6182Here’s the directions for this cute project:

  • For band around water bottle, cut DSP (I used Flowerpot DSP) 2 X 8 & use sticky strip to adhere to bottle.
  • Cut Hello Honey CS 2 1/2 X 8 1/2 & score at 2 1/2 & 6.
  • Punch hole in top, then decorate with Lost Lagoon cut out with #2 Starburst Framelit.  Tip:  Punch the circle out first so that you can see where to line up the framelit.
  • Fold bottom pocket up & use Sticky Strip to close the sides.
  • Stamp bottle image from Cycle Celebration to stamp bottle.  I did some fussy cutting, but you could also use markers to color the stamp.  I know how cranky some of you get with fussy cutting!!
  • Cut out using #2 Banners Framelits.
  • Staple (yes, that’s our cute new stapler!!) ribbon onto side of banner (Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stretched Satin Ribbon)
  • IMG_6183Found the idea here for this cute bottle!  Hope you’re inspired to make some of these & pass them around!

June Paper Pumpkin

I just LOVE the June Paper Pumpkin kit!!

The box is filled with all these goodies to make 20 pinwheels!  Here’s Elisa making her pinwheels for her Rotary Breakfast:

These are perfect if you’re having a BBQ or party.  But since I’m not, I’ve made a few cards to give you some ideas!

Here’s the same card, but I added a little more bling!  Notice the cute little paper clips that came with the kit?  Love those!!

This simple card was CASED from Debbie’s Designs.  Go check out her blog for tons of ideas, including a summer banner!

IMG_5201And here’s my final card, using a smaller pinwheel.

Have fun making your kits this month!  The next Paper Pumpkin Party (where you’re invited to bring your kits over so that we can make them together) will be Sunday, August 3rd.  If you’d like to join us, just click on the Paper Pumpkin Picture on my blog & give it a try!

I’ll leave you with a picture of the “Party Girl!”IMG_5118

May Paper Pumpkin Ideas…

Here’s a few different ways you can make your May Paper Pumpkin kit:

This kit is very simple & cute!  Comes with the banner stickers and a Happy Birthday & Father’s Day stamp.  I added some Rich Razzelberry to jazz it up!  Makes a great masculine card!

Here’s the next card…

The kit also contained these candy dots & some twine.  And… a couple of small gift cards:

Simple & fun!

Come over tomorrow if you’d like to make your Paper Kits together.  Or if you’d just like to make up some of my old kits, that would be great!  FREE class is Monday, May 26 from 10-noon at my house in Haiku.  Hope to see you then!

We did have to cut out bunny, but that wasn’t so bad.  She’s popped up using a dimensional.

One more project:

Createwithcheryl purple bucket

Found these cute little buckets on Pick Your Plum, & I couldn’t resist!  Perfect for holding all your essentials for your craft table!  And, after months of protesting, I pulled out my Sizzlits S Pinwheel Die & found it simple to put together!
