We have a fun color challenge to share with you today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration: Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, & Lemon Lime Twist. I think these colors are so pretty together. And the thing I’m most excited about: Flirty Flamingo, now an In Color, is coming back TO STAY with the color revamp!! Yay!
I was inspired after seeing a pretty card on Instagram with a watercolor background & the mermaid on top. I don’t seem to be able to copy the picture from Instagram (can you do that?), but I can tell you where to find this talented lady on Instagram… chandrajunck888.
Here’s the card I came up with:
I think the secret is starting with watercolor paper! Makes such a difference. I put a few drops of ink on my clear block, then painted with my aquapainter, mixing the colors a bit. I just received my preorder from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. The Nature’s Poem Suite is my absolute favorite!!! Trees, branches, leaves- with thinlits!! It’s Lovely as a Tree on steroids!
The copper adds a nice accent, don’t you think? You’ll find my supply list on the bottom of this post (except for the Rooted in Nature Bundle that will be available for purchase June 1st. Unless you’re a demo, then you can order it now! Don’t forget my May Promo… make a $50 order from me on line & I’ll send you a package of leaves trinkets as a Thank You!
Be sure & check out the SSINK Page to see what the other designers did using these pretty colors! Better yet, add your own card to the challenge! We’d love to see what you come up with!
Today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration we are CASING Pamela Wu! Pamela & I have become good friends through this blog, even though we’ve never met (yet…). I have quite a few girlfriends like that I’ve met through stamping and they’ve been such a blessing in my life!
When I saw this card made by Pamela, I knew I wanted to CASE it! It’s simple, but so pretty- such a great layout. CASE means “Copy & Share Everything”. The idea is to start with a card you love and either make one exactly alike, or change it up a bit. Just be sure & give credit to the original artist!
Here’s Pam’s card:
And here’s my CASE:
I really appreciate a nice Sympathy Card. They’re probably the most difficult card to write, but the most important. When Pat’s mom passed away several months ago we received some beautiful cards that we cherish & will never throw away.
You can see I’m playing with my new stuff!! I started with the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper & chose the colors from there. I wanted a masculine card (no doily) & found Graceful Glass Designer Vellum (you guys are going to LOVE THIS!) and cut the circle out with Layering Circles Framelits. The font on the Painted Glass set goes perfectly with the stained glass look.
I have a special May Promo… make a $50 order from me on line & I’ll send you a package of leaves trinkets as a Thank You! (greater than $9 value!)
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure & go to the SSINK PAGE to see what others have CASED from Pamela!
We have a fun Sketch Challenge for you to participate in at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration! This is a great way to help you get started when you’re making a new card. We hope you’ll participate in our challenge.
Here’s what I came up with:
This set is special because I got it FREE in Prize Patrol when I was in Salt Lake City in November for On Stage! It’s called Lovely Wishes. I really love these colors together! Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, & Lemon Lime Twist. I’m trying to come up with colors for my blog. Time to make some changes! But I’m very wishy washy so far… changing my mind every day!
Sale-a-Bration is over! Waaaaa! It was sure fun while it lasted. And one thing we all know about Stampin’ Up!… they always have something up their sleeve! I’m heading to Las Vegas for On Stage this weekend!! Maybe I’ll win another Prize Patrol!
Make sure you head over to the SSINK PAGE to see what the other designers have done with this challenge.
We’re making Easter Cards at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration today! I pulled out You’re Inspiring, a set with beautiful daffodils! When Pat & I were first married we lived in Salt Lake City. It was so exciting to see the daffodils peek up from the snow every Spring! I can’t grow daffodils on Maui, unless I put the bulbs in the freezer… We do have some lovely gardenia’s blooming right now though, so I’m happy!
CASED this card from Sue Vine, thank you, Sue! I had to use your idea of masking the daffodils- just love how that looks! I added Wink of Stella to the middle of the flowers. Maybe you can see it in this close up.
Be sure to head over to SSInkspiration to see what the other design team members have created for Easter!
Have you ever tried the Reflection Technique? I think you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to do! Today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspriation we’re focusing on the Reflection Technique and hope you’ll play along with our challenge!
I’m not really very good at sponging, but getting better with practice. Here’s a card I made with a left-over piece from a card I messed up on. I think I like it even better than the card above! What do you think?
I’m trying to earn the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Greece in 2019, but have quite a ways to go! Here you can see my progress! Looks like I just passed Mexico!
For years when our girls were little, we were famous around the neighborhood for our St. Patrick’s Day Parties! Basically, everything was green! Green rice, mac & cheese, cupcakes, beer & soda. And we’d always have an Irish Dance Show put on by the kids. Miss those days…
I’ve decided to GO GREEN and use a Fun Fold called a Pleated Card. This fold is a great way to show off your Designer Series Papers!
I didn’t find any Designer Series Paper in green that I was inspired about, so I started with this Black & White DSP, Petal Passion, & colored the flowers with my Stampin’ Blends. I turned it over & decided I liked the back side even more!
I needed a little something for the corner so I cut out some flowers from Petals & More Thinlits Dies. That bundle is my latest favorite!! It’s pricey, but it has 2 stamp sets and you’ll love the way the images stamp and cut out! And if you buy it this month, you’ll also earn a Sale-a-Bration item! Only 2 more weeks of Sale-a-Bration!
Happy Monday & welcome to the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration post where we’ll be focusing on Get Well Cards today.
For my cards I started with a kit that’s been sitting on my table for awhile. It’s called Color Me Happy & came out with our Stampin’ Blends. The colors are so pretty & the envelopes really step it up a notch!
This was super easy because the card base & white layer were ready to go. I used a flower from Touches of Texture and sentiment from Flourishing Phrases, embossing them in silver. Colored them in with my Stampin’ Blends & dressed it up with ribbon & Glitter Dots (love those!!).
Here’s a different look. Found those cute vellum leaves that were left over from last month’s Paper Pumpkin!
Today at Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration we’ll be showing you some 2nd release Sale-a-Bration items! Stampin’ Up! just released more FREE items with every $50 you spend!! I’ll be showing you a card made with Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper, which was a 2nd release Sale-a-Bration item! This paper is so pretty as is, but I wanted to try adding a little color to it using my brayer.
I was trying to come up with an ombre look. This was really simple- just brayed it (is that a word?) with Marina Mist, Island Indigo, & then Night of Navy.
Here’s a card that’s sure to cure your Winter Blues!
I just loved the way this turned out! The paper is Petal Passion DSP that has been colored using my Stampin’ Blends. There’s really no right or wrong way to use the Blends- just experiment!
This card is a Fun Fold called a Gate Card. Very simple to make. Give it a try! For the card base, start with cardstock cut at 4 1/4 X 11 and score each end at 2 3/4″. Then fold each side in towards the middle.
Take a look at the back of the paper after I colored it! I almost like this as much as the front!! What do you think?
Gave this card to my sweet husband for Valentine’s Day. He’s been in the hospital in Arizona for 2 weeks- came back to Maui & had 1 nice day at home then had to go back to Maui Memorial ICU with more complications. Hopefully he’ll be coming home today!
Thank you to everyone for your kindness and prayers during this difficult time. My stampin’ friends are so wonderful- love you all!! I’ve had people help prep my classes for me, mow my lawn, bring food, & loads of people praying & encouraging us. We are truly blessed!
