I love a challenge! And anytime I use Perfect Plum it’s challenging for me!! That color just sits there waiting to be noticed by me. In face, my upline, Anne Matasci and I started a Purple Plum Color Challenge with each other on Pinterest that we haven’t bothered with for over a year. So I’m reviving the challenge, Anne!!
That brings me to today’s Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Color Challenge SSINKCC#43.
I just dove right in & hated the colors when I started, but now I think it really works!!
In fact, I really like it a lot!! Where’s the plum? It’s in the sentiment and the dark color on the roses.
I was in a hurry this morning and decided to CASE one of my own cards.
Remember this gorgeous DSP and Everything Eleanor?!!
Here are the measurements so that you can CASE it, too!
Stamps: Picture Perfect
Ink: Melon Mambo & Perfect Plum
Paper: Whisper White Card Base (5 1/2 X 11, scored at 4 1/4 and 4 1/2 X 1 3/4), Tip Top Taupe (5 1/4 X 4, 2015 – 2017 In Color DSP Stack (4 1/4 X 1 3/4), Melon Mambo (4 1/4 X 2)
Be sure and check out what other great ideas the SSINK Team comes up with for combining these colors! And join us by adding your card in the color challenge SSINKCS#43!
Hi everyone! I’m taking over the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Blog today where I get to tell you about myself!
I was raised in Hawaii (my dad was a minister who worked with servicemen & women on Oahu) and love the beach, hiking, and all the local culture & food! I became a Pediatric Nurse, starting in Honolulu, then moving to Colorado because I’d never seen snow. That was quite an experience: learning to dress for cold weather, drive on icy roads, & to ski- which I love! Met my husband, Pat, when he was a surgical resident at Denver Children’s. We ended up on Maui about 30 years ago, where we raised our 2 daughters, Jenny & Malia.
Jenny got married a few months ago & she’s a nurse on a trauma unit in Texas. Malia graduated from UT, Austin, and will soon be heading to Syracuse, NY to work with refugees.
Oh, can’t forget my pride & joy, Swiffer!
I’ve always enjoyed crafting! I first got into stamping when Jenny was in preschool. Once a week, my friend, Wendy, & I would drop the kids off then head over to her house for a morning of stamping fun! I remember getting so excited when I discovered you could stamp with different colors. Everything was 1 layer back then. But just like skiing on the Bunny Hill is exciting when you start out, every card we made was exciting & fun!
I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for about 6 years now & I just love it! Being creative is fun & relaxing, but it’s the friendships I’ve made that have been an unexpected bonus! I’ve been a part of the SSINK Design Team since last year. It’s a huge challenge for me and quite an honor. Everyone on the team has been so encouraging and helpful!
I’m not sure how to describe my style. My favorite type of card is a “Fun Fold”. I’ll show you a few that I’ve made:
Before I go, here’s my latest project. I was inspired by these new stamps I found at the Post Office!
Matched up the cardstock with the stamps: So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, Early Espresso, & Chocolate Chip, and reached for the Cool Treats Suite!
This is the first time I’ve tried this technique & it’s so simple & fun! It was difficult to capture in a photo! Here’s what I came up with:
The Fairy Celebration was perfect for this technique because there’s a lot you can color! You just emboss on vellum, then turn it over & color with markers. I attached the vellum to a Whisper White piece the same size (3 X 4) and attached it with glue dots under the coloring or the sequins, so that you can’t see the dots.
The FREE silver ribbon from Sale-A-Bration went with it nicely!
Here’s a close up so that you can see the Stained Glass Technique a little better:
When I saw the beautiful patterns & colors in the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper in the Occasions Catalog, I ordered it right away. It’s even prettier in person!
I LOVE the way this card turned out! Don’t you love the Sweet Sugarplum with the Old Olive? I didn’t think I needed another flower Framelit or stamp set, but after seeing lots of beautiful ideas on Pinterest I decided to purchase the Stylish Stems Framelits Dies & Special Reason Stamp Set. Go here to see my Pinterest Page!
Stamps: Special Reason
Ink: Tip Top Taupe
Paper: Tip Top Taupe (5 1/2 X 11, score at 4 1/4), Sweet Sugarplum (5 1/4 X 4), Succulent Garden DSP (3 1/4 X 3 3/4), Whisper White (3 X 3 1/2), Old Olive

Here’s what’s on the inside:

Today you’ll find lots of ideas from the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team! We’re featuring our favorite Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalog. Take a few minutes & enjoy browsing over their creations!
I really love the sentiment in this card (and the font!)! Today the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team is focusing on Valentine or LOVE Cards! Instead of the typical Valentine paper, I’ve used Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper for this card. I love the way Stampin’ Up! makes all these products that go together!! Washi Tape. Sprinkles Embellishments. Ink/Paper. And Designer Series Paper.
Here’s the Card Details:
Stamps: Bloomin’ Love, Falling for You
Ink: Watermelon Wonder & Crumb Cake
Paper: Whisper White (5 1/2 X 11, scored at 4 1/4), Tasty Treats Specialty DSP (1 1/4 X 5 1/2)
The Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Team has a Technique Challenge that we hope you’ll try out: Bokeh!
Here’s what I came up with:
For this card, I just masked the outer edges of the Whisper White to concentrate the color on the middle strip. Then I just sponged it with Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, & Pear Pizzazz, and then finally sponged little dots with Craft White. Such a cool effect!!
Here’s a picture of a card & did a while back:
Give it a try and enter our challenge! And be sure & check out the other beautiful ideas from the SSINK Team.
Don’t you just love him?!! He looks just like my puppy, Swiffer! I colored him using the new Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils. So fun & simple to use! You can use Blender Pens or Aquapainters to blend the colors. There’s really not a wrong way to use them so it’s fun to play around with them to see the different results.
Stamps: Bella & Friends, Designer Tin of Cards
Ink: Stazon Black Ink
Paper: Smokey Slate (5 1/2 X 11), Sweet Sugarplum (3 X 5 1/4), Soft Sky (1 X 5 1/4), Whisper White
