I’m so excited to be a part of Kylie’s International Highlights Winners Blog Hop!! Here’s the project that many of you voted for (Mahalo!!) that got me into this fun hop:
Our theme for today’s hop is ENCOURAGEMENT. We were asked to create a card for someone we know who could use some encouragement at this time. I know right away who could use a boost of hope, friendship, & support right now, my friend Robin Messenheimer.
Robin lives on the Big Island in Leilani Estates. Her beautiful home was covered by lava last Thursday, May 24th. She and her husband & dog are safe while they stay at a friend’s house in nearby Hilo.
Robin is a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and her blog is Robin’s Craft Room. I haven’t met Robin in person yet, but let me tell you the kind of person she is. A few months ago I had been trying for weeks to make my own card layouts for a series of classes. I just couldn’t get them to look right and searched Pinterest, which led me to Robin’s blog. I was surprised when the first words on her posts were “Aloha, all!” A fellow “Hawaiian”! I called Robin just to ask her what program she used to make her layouts. She spent over an hour on the phone basically giving me a FREE tutorial on how to do this! I mean, who does this?! What a sweet & generous person!
Here’s a Fun Fold Card (called a Concertina Card) I’ve sent over to Robin:
I’ll bet some of you recognize this beautiful Designer Series Paper- Share What You Love. It’s shiny & iridescent when you hold it up to the light. The sentiments are from Abstract Impressions, one of our new stamp sets.
I’m sure she’ll enjoy this cheery card.
Robin has such an amazing, upbeat attitude. She was able to save some craft supplies, including Lemon Zest (if life gives you lemons…). She’s trying to make a small crafting space so that she can make a few cards & start blogging again. I spoke with her a few days ago & she said the thing that would help her the most would be to receive some cards! I think we can do that! How about you? Please join me in encouraging Robin in her new journey by sending her a card.

Time to continue on the hop, where you’re sure to find some wonderful & encouraging ideas!
What a great card you made for Robin. Our team is sending some cards from the Netherlands. That’s the least we can do for her!
That is so cool, Danielle!! She’ll love that!
Wow, Cheryl! I knew the card you sent me was special, but what you expressed in this message is beyond special. Thank you so much for your support and good wishes. Aloha!
Robin, You have so many people who love you & are inspired by you!! Sending you & your husband tons of ALOHA!! You’ll have to look back on comments on this post because I’m sure there will be quite a few who comment about you.
Beautiful fancy folds, Cheryl! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Dianne. Yes, I hope her mailbox is overflowing!
This is so lovely Cheryl & I just love what you wrote about Robin. I think you have described her to a “T” even though I don’t know her personally only through her blog. She will adore & cherish this card. TFS
