Aloha & welcome to our monthly Island Hop! I’m Cheryl from Maui & I’ll be hopping with Robin from the Big Island. Today we’ll be focusing on Christmas Cards from products you can find in the Annual Catalog!
It’s easy to ignore the Annual Catalog this time of year and focus only on the amazing products in the New Holiday Catalog. But I hope you take another look at the Annual Catalog after visiting our hop today!
I dusted off one of my favorite old sets, Winter Woods, & came up with this card:

Decisions… decisions…
I just LOVE this new In Color, Seaside Spray, & wanted to make it work with this card. What do you think? Blue trees?
This stamp set has coordinating framelits, In the Woods, which cut out this gorgeous 3-D tree! This one has a Smokey Slate card base. I was having trouble making decisions this morning, so I also made it with a Crumb Cake base:

What do you think? Smokey Slate or Crumb Cake?
I also played around with some new goodies that I could order early (demos can order a month early!). Everything from the new Holiday Catalog will be available to the rest of you in a few days (Sept. 4th).
Snowfall Accents Puff Paint or Shimmery Crystal Effects?

The Snowfall Accents comes out kind of watery, so you need to be careful with it! The Crystal Effects is shiny & beautiful and I see tons of uses for it! But I prefer the Snowfall Accents on the trees. Decision made.
This will be one of the cards at my In Color Class on Sept. 23rd. The color of the month is SEASIDE SPRAY!

Time to check out Robin’s blog! I wonder if she’ll use the same stamp set as me. It’s always fun to see what she comes up with!
Have a wonderful day & thanks for stopping by!

Blue trees? Maybe they’re blue spruce! ;o) Think I might like a smoky slate card base with the trees stamped in seaside spray on shimmery white, but that’s just my humble opinion. Love the new Island Hop you’re doing with Robin!
Good guess, Connie! Blue spruce…That works! Thanks so much for your comment and for following my blog! Glad you like our mini blog hop!
Nice use of the frosting on that “blue spruce”! My friend, Donna, and I were really into the crumb cake as a base for Christmas cards this week. Love it!
Thanks Robin. I really like that crumb cake base also. Try it with some pink colors too. I did that a few weeks ago and it was really pretty .
