Aloha and welcome to our Island Style Stampers Blog Hop! We’re a small team with some big ideas, so we hope you’ll visit all of us and leave us some comments!
Our theme this month is Favorites from the New Catalog!
Our new Annual Catalog debuted on May 1, 2024, with a ton of new stamp sets, beautiful Designer Series Papers, new In Colors, and much more…
When I saw the Loveliest Tree set, I knew I had to have it.
Here is the card I came up:
It makes a beautiful Sympathy Card. My card uses Basic Black, and a new color, Basic Beige. I’ve stamped and cut out the tree in the two colors, cut it down the middle, and stuck the two parts together. I like the way it turned out!
- Basic Black cardstock: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
- Basic Beige: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 5/8″ x 3 5/8″
- Basic White: 3 3/4″ x 5″ and scraps
Here’s what I did with the other halves of the tree:
I embossed the front of the Basic Gray card base using Basics 3D Embossing Folder, then put the tree on a Basic Black background & added some Basic Beige. It’s a little darker than I like, so I prefer the first card.
Which card do you like best?
This set reminds me of an old favorite: Lovely as a Tree.
Here’s an old blog post using that stamp set:
Hope you enjoyed my card and got some inspiration to get you crafting today!

Next up is Malia, who always has something pretty to share with us!

I love the two tones of this card! And it looks like you masked it, I don’t notice the separate pieces at all but this seems simpler than masking.

Thanks Malia. I’m still not sure about chopping the tree in half, but I just HAD to do it! Glad you liked it!

The card is perfect for a sympathy card and I really that new color, Basic Beige. Looks like I’ll have to add it to my wish list!

Thanks so much! Yes, you’ll love Basic Beige!

I love this card. Have already gotten the new beige and love it. Been to Maui many times in my youth. Heartbroken over fire in Lahaina. Keep everyone there in my prayers.

Thanks so much, Jean!
