This month I’m featuring the Gears & Textures Bundle, a fun mechanical-themed set that’s perfect for masculine projects. My calendar was inspired by a beautiful card created by my talented teammate, Barb Salez. I loved taking her design and giving it a new twist as a mini calendar.
To create the background, I used the stamping-off technique, which gives the Smoky Slate gears a softer look so they don’t compete with the focal point. The layered metallic gears and black chain add plenty of texture, while the pops of Poppy Parade, Pretty Peacock, and Cajun Craze keep everything bold and energetic. I finished it with Flower Accents for just a touch of sparkle.

Don’t think of this layout as just a calendar! Replace the calendar page with a greeting, and you’ve got a great masculine birthday, retirement, or Father’s Day card. It’s an easy way to get even more from the supplies you already own.
