Aloha Stampers!
Sympathy cards can sometimes be difficult to make when you need one, so I like having a few already made and ready to send. A handmade card is such a thoughtful way to let someone know you’re thinking of them during a difficult time.
For today’s cards, I used Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper along with the Phrases & Frames and Prayers & Promises stamp sets.
Let the Designer Series Paper Do the Work
The beautiful scenery in this paper really becomes the focus of the card. I especially love how this fun fold frames the center portion of the scene while still allowing you to see more of the Designer Series Paper on either side.
I made two versions to show how different the same card design can look depending on which piece of paper you choose. The soft blue countryside has a peaceful feeling, while the black and gray trees create a completely different, more dramatic look.
A Simple Fun Fold
When you open the card, the center panel lifts to reveal the message underneath. It adds something a little unexpected without making the card overly complicated.
I’ve put together a free PDF tutorial with the measurements and instructions so you can make this fun fold at home. This would be a wonderful layout to try with other scenic Designer Series Papers, too.
🌺 Crafty Tip: When working with scenic Designer Series Paper, decide which part of the scene you want to feature before you cut. Positioning the focal point on that center panel can make a big difference in the finished card.
