Aloha and welcome to our Island Style Stampers Blog Hop! We’re a small team with some big ideas, so we hope you’ll visit all of us and leave us some comments!
Our theme this month is Step it Up for Spring!
After the OnStage in Houston event for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, I spent a week with my daughter, Malia, and her husband in McAllen, Texas. While Malia was at work, I had a chance to play with all the products she has that I don’t own (yet!)
I focused on the Encircled in Nature Bundle. This pretty set helps you to create outdoor-inspired projects encircled in natural wreaths.
I planned to Step it up, so I’ve started with a simple card, using just stamps, ink, paper, and a few embellishments.
Here’s the card I came up with:
Very simple for a beginner to make. And you wouldn’t have to purchase a lot to make it.
Now for the STEPPED UP part!
As I was rummaging through Malia’s stuff, I found this gorgeous embossing folder: Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder.
This includes a combination of dies and the embossing folder, which gives you LOTS of options! But I was really happy with just the embossing folder.
I started by sponging colors in a circular motion on Basic White cardstock. Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, & Lemon Lime Twist. These colors seem like SPRING!
I embossed on vellum and decided to cut away the center to make the sentiment the focal point.
- Thick Basic White cardstock: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Bubble Bath: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White: 3 3/4″ x 5″
STEPPED UP CARD:
- Lemon Lime Twist cardstock: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Bubble Bath: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White: 3 3/4″ x 5″ (cut 2- 1 is for inside)
- Vellum: 3 3/4″ x 5″
Hope you enjoyed my card and got some inspiration to get you crafting today!
