Aloha Stampers!
Do you ever make a card and think, “I need to remember this layout!”? That’s exactly how I felt when I finished this one!
I used the beautiful Gathering Together Designer Series Paper, which is now retired, along with a textured strip of Early Espresso cardstock. I love how the three different panels work together, and this is definitely a layout I’ll be using again!

A Little Texture Makes a Big Difference
One of my favorite things about this card is the contrast between the pretty fall paper and the dark, textured cardstock.
I embossed the Early Espresso strip with the Textured Tree Ring Embossing Folder. Doesn’t it add a beautiful woodsy look?
And here’s something to remember: Textured Tree Ring is on the Last Chance list, so if you’ve been thinking about getting this embossing folder, be sure to check it out before it’s gone!
For the greeting, I used the Scallop Blooms Stamp Set and the Sweet Words Dies. I love the decorative edges on these dies, especially when you layer two of them together.
A little Golden Glow ribbon behind the greeting finishes everything off.

Card Measurements – Save This Layout!
Here’s the layout I want to remember. It’s a great one for using different patterns of Designer Series Paper together!
- Thick Basic White card base: 5½” × 8½”, scored at 4¼”
- Golden Glow cardstock: 4″ × 5¼” for the background mat
- Gathering Together DSP, left panel: ¾” × 5″
- Early Espresso cardstock, center panel: 1¼” × 5″, embossed with the Textured Tree Ring Embossing Folder
- Gathering Together DSP, right panel: 1¾” × 5″
- Golden Glow and Basic White scraps: For the layered Sweet Words die-cut greeting
- Golden Glow ribbon: To tuck behind the greeting
Start by adhering the three vertical panels to the Golden Glow mat, then attach the completed panel to your card base.
Stamp your greeting, cut out the decorative shapes using the Sweet Words Dies, and layer them together.
Add a little ribbon behind the greeting before attaching it to the center of the card.
That’s it! A simple layout with lots of possibilities.
🌺 Crafty Tip: Save your favorite card layouts and try them again with different Designer Series Papers. You’ll be surprised how different the same design can look!
Use What You Have!
Although the Gathering Together Designer Series Paper is retired, this layout would work beautifully with almost any paper you have in your collection.
Try it with Christmas patterns, pretty florals, or even coordinating scraps from your stash.
I especially like how the narrow embossed strip breaks up the two Designer Series Paper patterns.
