Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop- CASE a Team Member

Cheryl · July 8, 2020 · 23 Comments

Aloha Stampers!

Welcome to our Hop Around the World on Wednesday!  Today we are all CASING a Team Member!  Names were drawn by our amazing, energetic leader, Angie McKenzie.  I get to CASE Manuela Geis, from Germany!  She’s a member of the Artisan Stampin’ Up! Design Team and it was difficult to choose just 1 thing to CASE!

I finally decided on this one.  I love the Seaside Notions stamps and watercoloring!

The colors Manuela used are so pretty!  I wanted to use lighter blues and add a touch of Flirty Flamingo.

Here’s my card:

Seaside Notions Watercolor Card

Watercoloring

Watercoloring is really pretty simple!  I just have a few tips for you:

  • Start with Watercolor Paper or Shimmery White Paper.  It just doesn’t work as well on regular Whisper White cardstock and the fibers are easily damaged.
  • Put a few drops of reinker on a block, and grab the color from there with a Water Painter.  Just have fun & brush it on.  Every card will look different!  Use a Stampin’ Spritzer if it needs more water.
  • On this card, I heat embossed the images with White Embossing Powder before watercoloring.  The embossed area resists the ink.

Seaside Notions Watercolor Card

Pool Party Sheer Ribbon is so sparkly and pretty!  Lightweight and easy to work with!

Seaside Notions Watercolor Card

See the sparkle?!!  No.  That’s not Wink of Stella.  It’s Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (page 147 AC).  That tiny bottle has lasted me over a year!  I just add a small amount to a small spray bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol 70%, shake it & mist it over my card to add a nice sparkle.  You should really get some before Christmas!

If you’d like to make this card at home, all supplies you’ll need are listed below.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure and keep hopping along to see some fun ideas as we CASE a Team Member!

Fabulous card Cheryl, and love that little touch of shimmer, perfect for this card. Well shimmer is always perfect for any card, but in particular for this watery scene! 🙂 xx
