AWOW Blog Hop- Double Challenge Warm Welcome

Cheryl · April 12, 2023 · 15 Comments

Aloha and welcome to another edition of the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! Twenty of my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator friends are joining me in this worldwide blog that stretches all the way from New Zealand to Hawaii across twelve different time zones.

April Showers Bring May Flowers is the general theme for the April 2023 Blog Hop with a challenge to show off a technique we enjoy

Warm Welcome

This card really reminds me of Spring- especially May Day!   I remember when I was little, leaving a small bouquet of flowers on the door, knocking and then running to hide.  I’m sure Mom knew it was me, but she’d always look so surprised & happy to see all these flowers I’d picked from her garden!

This set is called Warm Welcome and it coordinated with a set of dies.

Warm Welcome

I’ve used a technique in this card that I haven’t used in a long time: Soft Pastels!  They’re simple to use- just rub a Q-tip on the chalk then apply to your image. It’s very pretty and has a soft look.

Here are the dimensions for this card:

  • Thick Very Vanilla: 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4
  • Soft Succulent: 4 X 5 1/4
  • Fancy Flora DSP: 4 x 1 3/4 & scrap

The pastels have given a very soft look. I’ve not used them before but they look interesting.
