Aloha and welcome to another edition of the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! Twenty of my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator friends are joining me in this worldwide blog that stretches all the way from New Zealand to Hawaii across twelve different time zones.
Today our theme is: Technique Challenge – Watercolor Smooshing!
This was a new technique for me! Basically, you put some ink on a block, spray water on it using the Water Spritzer, dip a Window Sheet into it then apply the ink to Watercolor Paper. Each one will be different!
Here’s my card:
Colors: Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lime Twist
This was really fun to do! Notice the brand new products: Paper Butterfly Accents (#162612) and purple Fine Shimmer Gems (#162611) available to order January 4th from the new Mini Catalog.
Here are the dimensions for this Card:
- Watercolor Paper: start with a large piece to add ink, then cut to 4″ x 2 7/8″, then cut into 1″ strips
- Pool Party: 4 3/8″ x 3″
- Lemon Lime Twist Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″
- Basic White: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ (cut 2 – one for inside)
The sentiments are from a new set called Perennial Postage (#162598)
I hope this project has inspired you to try this fun technique!

The split panels are a great idea as they add even more interest to an already interesting DIY DSP. Nice work!
