I love adding a handmade touch to my Christmas gifts, and these little Christmas stocking gift tags are such a fun way to do it!
I’ve made several different stockings using Christmas patterned paper, and I had so much fun mixing and matching the colors and designs. Each one has its own personality!
And here’s the best part—after making the tags, I discovered another way to use the leftover stocking cutouts!
Handmade Christmas Stocking Gift Tags
These stockings are perfect for dressing up Christmas packages. You can make them traditional with reds and greens, give them a quilted look, or try something completely different!
I especially love the little patchwork star on the red stocking. It reminds me of a Christmas quilt!
Each tag has room on the back for writing To and From, so they’re not just cute—they’re useful, too!

Don’t throw away those leftover pieces when you’re die-cutting! Sometimes the negative space—the part left behind after cutting—is just as useful as the shape itself.
That’s exactly what happened when I made these stockings!

After making my gift tags, I decided to use the leftover stocking cutouts to make a couple of Christmas cards.
I love finding ways to use every bit of my pretty paper, and these cards were a fun bonus project!
