Sometimes the prettiest Designer Series Paper deserves to be more than just a layer on your card! For this birthday card, I used Valley in Bloom Designer Series Paper to make the actual card base—there’s no cardstock underneath it.
One of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is that it’s double-sided, but that can also make it hard to decide which side to use! With this card, you don’t have to choose.
The floral pattern makes up most of the card front, and I folded back a section on the right to reveal the pretty plaid pattern on the reverse side. It’s an easy way to show off both sides of your Designer Series Paper on one card.
Quick & Simple Details
I kept the rest of the card simple because the paper does most of the work. The flower and leaves are from the coordinating Valley in Bloom sticker sheet, so there’s no stamping or coloring needed for those.
I added the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Lily of the Valley Stamp Set, and a few embellishments finish everything off.
This would be an easy design to make several of at once, and you could change the greeting for just about any occasion.
🌺 Crafty Tip: When you love both sides of a piece of Designer Series Paper, try using the DSP itself as your card base. Fold back a portion of the front to reveal the reverse pattern—you get two coordinating designs without adding another layer!
And remember, use what you have! Look through your stash for double-sided Designer Series Paper with two patterns that look great together. You can use this same idea with all kinds of papers and embellishments.
