Dutch Door Card Using Friendly Foliage

Today I’m sharing a simple fun fold card called the Dutch Door Card. This is such a fun design because the lower front panel opens independently, revealing the inside of the card where you can write your personal message. It’s a unique fold that’s surprisingly easy to make and always impresses the recipient!

For this card, I chose Hydrangea Hue, one of the beautiful new In Colors, to create a soft monochromatic design. I love how using different shades and textures of the same color gives the card so much elegance without being complicated.

The top inside panel is embossed with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder, adding wonderful texture when the card is opened. On the lower front panel, I featured the gorgeous Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper, which adds just the right amount of pattern and shine.

To decorate the card, I stamped and die-cut the leaves using the Friendly Foliage Bundle, then tucked in a few extra die-cut leaves for added dimension. The sentiment was stamped on Basic White cardstock, punched with the Three Banner Punch, and popped up using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished everything off with a few In Color Butterfly Embellishments for the perfect finishing touch.

This fun fold is a wonderful way to showcase beautiful Designer Series Paper while adding a little surprise for the person receiving your handmade card. If you’ve never tried a Dutch Door Card before, I hope this inspires you to give it a try!
