Aloha Stampers!
Welcome to our Island Style Stampers Mini Hop! This is a small monthly hop between my daughter Malia and me, and this month we’re having some Halloween fun!
I decided to make something other than a card—a BOO banner to hang on the wall or a door. I love finding different ways to use my paper-crafting supplies, and banners are such a fun way to decorate for the holidays.
Frightfully Fun for Halloween
The Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper gave me the perfect starting point. I used several different patterns so that each section of the banner is a little different while still coordinating.
The Oh My Fright Bundle added the Halloween details, including the spooky tree, bats, and little ghost. I also added adhesive bats, ghosts, and dots for a few extra fun details.
For each panel, I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut both the Pumpkin Pie cardstock and Designer Series Paper. I really like the slightly uneven edges for a Halloween project—they add a little more character than perfectly straight rectangles.
The white pieces behind the letters were cut with the retired Stitched All Around Dies, and the letters are from Party Alphabet Dies.
🌺 Crafty Tip: Don’t let a retired product stop you from trying a project you like. Look at the basic shape or purpose of the die and see what you already have that could take its place. Your version doesn’t have to look exactly like mine!
I attached all five panels to the black-and-white ribbon to make one long hanging banner. I especially like adding the decorated panel at the top—it gives me another place to use those cute dies without needing another letter.
