I really love Thanksgiving! Yes, there’s the food. My husband grills the turkey on the Weber every year & it has a slightly smokey flavor & it’s moist, & the best turkey ever!!
Here’s Anne Matasci & me ready for some turkey!
But there’s just something wonderful about pausing to reflect on your blessings for one whole day! We had a tradition when the girls still lived at home where we had a Thankful Turkey that sat out for a couple of weeks. You were supposed to fill it with little notes about things you were thankful for & then we’d read them aloud after dinner. I’ve kept them all over the years & they’re really fun to read!!
One of my fun family memories is when we made Pat get involved with making a new Thankful Turkey. He’s not really into crafting, but when he does it he doesn’t hold back! He must have used 10 glue sticks gluing on those pompoms! These pictures were taken over 10 years ago, by the way.
This is one turkey feather.
Today the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop is Introducing the Holiday Catalog! I’ve chosen to focus on Thanksgiving!
