Aloha Stampers!
Welcome to the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop where today we’ll be focusing on TECHNIQUES!
Oh, this is going to be fun! The technique I’m focusing on is USING DECORATIVE MASKS.
The card base is a beautiful, deep blue color: Starry Sky. I’ve applied Embossing Paste to Holographic Trio Specialty Paper. Look at how this paper picks up all the colors around it!
Using Decorative Masks is very simple, and you can do it many different ways.
For this card, I chose one of the masks from Foursquare Masks. Then I added texture by smearing Shimmery White Embossing Paste over the mask and scraping off the excess with a Palette Knife. You can also add color to a bit of Embossing Paste with your reinkers.
Another way to use Decorative Masks is to add some color using Blending Brushes with some color picked up from your stamp pad.
Here are the dimensions for this card:
- Starry Sky: 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4 and scrap
- Basic White: 5 1/4 X 4
- Holographic Trio Specialty Paper: ~4~4 3/4 x 3 1/4
- Petal Pink, Orchid Oasis, & Smoky Slate: scraps
You’ll find the supplies for these cards at the bottom of this post.
I hope your give this Decorative Mask Technique a try!
Before I go, I want to show you more examples of this technique:
