Island Hopping Card for Mom

Island Hopping between Maui and Big Island #CreateWithCheryl

Aloha Stampers!

Welcome to another Island Hopping Blog Hop!  This will be a quick hop between 2 islands… me on Maui and my friend, Robin on the Big Island.  Today we’ll each be making a card for Mother’s Day.

My card combines the gorgeous Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and an older stamp set called Tea Together.  It has a beautiful sentiment about the bond between a mother and daughter.  I don’t tell my mom often enough how much she means to me.  We’ve been blessed with a close relationship and have always enjoyed each other’s company so much!

Today I’ve been thinking about how proud I am of my mother!  She’s always been very pretty and very independent and free thinking (especially for a preacher’s wife!).  She always encourages and supports me.  Unconditional love.  Special moments pop into my mind like her singing solos for church and one time reciting a poem (“Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree”).  I think I’ll share all this with her in my card.

Back to my card.  You really need these Stitched So Sweetly Dies!!  I also want to mention that the Peaceful Poppies Elements were really fun to watercolor!

Time to head over to the island of Hawaii to see what Robin has made!!

I love the colors you used for this card. So bright and cheerful. It was nice seeing a photo of your mom, too. One of these days when I visit Maui I’ll have to meet her!
