Aloha and welcome to our Island Style Stampers Mini Blog Hop! My daughter, Malia, and I would love for you to visit each of our blogs to gather inspiration and share your thoughts.
Our theme this month is Copycat Creativity!
When I’m stuck for ideas, I like to search around for cards I like and then CASE them! Mine always turn out differently, depending on the supplies I have on hand, and sometimes mistakes I make!
I was inspired by the shading Malia did using her Blending Brushes and torn paper!
My card started out as a beach sunset theme. Ha! You can see how things changed as I was making the card. I used the largest Stylish Shapes square for my stencil, then used some torn paper and started shading. So much fun! When I was done, I had to turn it around to make it look normal. But then it didn’t look beachy at all.
I used this cattail stamp from Scalloped Wishes (#167453 for bundle – available March 3) and stamped it with Pecan Pie. Then I messed up at the bottom of the stamp and just covered it with the sentiment. You can almost always do things with your mistakes to make your cards even better!
Another funny thing, I always say I don’t like this Darling Duckling color at all. But I find myself using it over & over! Guess it’s one of my favorites now!
Have you tried this technique? It’s really fun & you’ll be amazed at how pretty your card turns out! Let me know if you’d like a video tutorial.
Now it’s time to hop along!
I can’t wait to see which card of mine Malia is going to CASE!
